Rangers captain Stephen Davis

for £2m, he'd be absolute quality. He's done it in the premiership with Fulham and Vila before, and he did a good job too.

He's stuck out like a sore thumb in the SPL as he's clearly too good for that level. Would be a brilliant start to our business.

I watch Rangers quite a bit and I'd certainly hope we're setting our sights slightly higher than him.

OK.......

I've always rated him tbh, I remember watching him at Villa and thinking he was a decent player. Didn't do too bad at Fulham either.

Goal scoring midfielder, experienced in the premiership, 26 years old.....£2m. Deal.

He's a good player but no better than what we've already got. One player of theirs we should be looking at is Sonny Aluko. Very skilful winger who also scores a few, he's good on the ball, English and he's young.

He also went on trial at Juventus before signing for Rangers this season, so must have something about him for them to take notice.

Iago Falque is a former Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus player and is currently at Tottenham. Saints only felt he was worthy of a 56 minute appearance. ;)

Davis has been one of Rangers most consistant players for the last 2+ years! Was worth £5m just last year when other PL clubs were sniffing about!

Id take Davis, Naismith and McGregor happily

Sonny did absolutely nothing at he dons, hes found some temp form but he's 100% not PL quality

I've not seen him for rangers but I've seen him this season for NI at Windsor park. he's a talented player but I believe this season he's been really poor for rangers in what is a terrible league.

I'd say he's a good premiership player but nothing special - and I'd agree with others would he really be much better than Morgan? perhaps as a potential squad player with hammond.

If we got him for 2m it would be a solid buy and hopefully he could regain form.

IMO he is definately no better than what we got , Morgan , Cork , Chappers & Hammond are all better and living in Scotland I see him most weeks on the telly matches, We need better. Now Gary Hooper that is a different Proposition

If we are going to bring in players then IMO they need to be first team players who are considerably better than what we have. No point bringing in players who aren't going to automatically be first teamers as the team spirit we have currently will play a huge part next season IMO.

This is exactly the type of player I DON'T think we need. We can't disrupt the squad by bringing 5/6 average signings - we need to be very careful and bring in the best players we can get in 2/3 select positions, i.e. RM and RB + either a GK or CB or striker if one come's available. I think Cork, Morgan and Hammond all do a very similar job to Davis.

Dissagree.

A player with top flight experience in England and European football with Rangers. We need to strengthen in CM, Chaplow and Hammond are not Premiership quality ultimately and Morgan/Cork need better quality competition. He excelled at Villa and only got pushed out due to managerial instability.

Would be a solid signing at the very least.

Agree with this. Would be a solid signing and knows how to do it at this level. Need that kind of experience in our squad.

hmm good point but i don't think norwich and swansea have had that much 'experience' in their squad. qpr have on the other hand and were the closest to going down. i think the spirit is more important. And although chaplow and hammond aren't prem 1st team quality, hammond is our captain and both seem quality lads who help to maintain our cohesiveness. I just don't think Davis would be inspired to help the club reach new levels - as you say, he's seen it all before. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

QPR are ahead of Norwich and Swansea since Mark Hughes was appointed - is this down to improved "spirit" or simply a better manager? I don’t buy all this "big names" means a bad team? QPR have been mid-table since Hughes came in!!

actaully I don't know that the fee was a problem, but someone wrote Rupert Lowe didn't like Drogba - because he thought he had a bit of an attitude!

Well that's one thing Lowe called correctly. I could've lived with his attitude in return for 50 goals and a £30m sell on fee. Though saying that, Lowe would've sold him for £10m and they would've pay that in monthly instalments of £1.

Could it not be both? Perhaps the new manager has improved the spirit ;)

Not true, that was Adebayor. Drogba couldn't get a work permit.

Correct. I also recall Strachan saying he had a deal lined up for Saha and Malbranque from Fulham for about £12m and Lowe wouldn't do it because he didn't want to make a rival financially stronger.

Thomas Rosiky was another one that we could have got and didn't happen.
