saints-cris Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 I know we didnt win the league, but on the last day.. Are we glad we did it so comfortably or would you have like the jubilation if doing it how City did today?
S-Clarke Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 Christ, sod that. I'm glad I could watch that as a neutral, but I wouldn't want to experience want those fans were going through on 88/89mins. I was happy to be celebrating by 60mins....! It shows how dangerous these 'poor' teams can be, and in context - albeit in a lower league, we dealt with Coventry brilliantly. This Charming Man Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 Tough question to answer. If it was a guaranteed thing, I'd choose the way Citeh have done it. That feeling when the 3rd went in would be one of the best feelings of your life, you'd struggle to better it (football wise). Though as you can't guarantee endings like that, I'm quite glad ours was done and dusted in a fairly straightforward manner.
shurlock Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 £1bn on a bunch of mercenaries, toure claiming he would like to return to barca in the run up to city's most important game in 40 years.... Our run-in was exhillerating enough esp as it was the culmination of three years stress and drama. We came from nowhere this season; while city have been half expected to win the prem for a while now.

Window Cleaner Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 Depends. Would be interesting to see if Citeh's 2 goals went in after the final whistle in the Stoke-Bolton game, if they did then I'm sure that there will be questions.

Are you trying to say that in a matter of seconds and with 1bn people watching around the world, Mark Hughes issued an instruction to his entire team to throw the game? Of course not, sort of natural relexation reaction on the part of QPR. Anyway the Stoke game finished at 16.53 and Citeh had already equalised by then. Anyway the Stoke game finished at 16.53 and Citeh had already equalised by then. It was just one of those things, you knew as soon as they got an equaliser a winner would soon follow. All the momentum was with Man City and it was a miracle QPR had held out for as long as they had.

City's third went in just after the final whistle at Stoke. There no need for any questions, QPR's players would have seen their fans celebrating and relaxed. Just a natural reaction. Under Weststand Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 God no way would I want to go through that. I much prefer to do it our way, a comfortable 4-0 win any day. Living up here I have loads of mates & family who are City fans, they were going through a living nightmare at 2-1 down. Can you imagine the s**t they would have had at work tomorrow had they not turned it around? But all ended ok for them happy days. As said above poetic justice it happened deep into Fergie time lol! jawillwill Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 One thing I did just notice on MOTD, is that when there was a pitch invasion, body guards/ security came running on pushing fans out the way to make sure the players could escape as quickly as possible with minimal interaction with the fans. Much more fan friendly feeling about our pitch invasion. Can't really imagine Tevez or Toure spending 20 minutes crowd surfing...

Thedelldays Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 I couldn't handle that, but obviously if it works out it's more memorable! Today was the most memorable final day I remember. Felt drained and wasn't even involving Saints. That's the most I've celebrated another team's goal. Amazing stuff but deserved given they beat Man Utd twice. Plus, over the season City probably played better than they ever have. Man Utd can't say the same. Agree Be interesting to see this city team against the 2007 champion league winning UTD team. Or even the great arsenal invimcibles
OttawaSaint Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 All seems a bit fishy to me, ex-city player does his old mates a favour getting sent off. Saint Garrett Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 To be fair Utd have been buying the title for years, though it gets overlooked as its been a constant thing, whereas City have done it all in a few years and therefore looks worse. I think I am right in saying that their first XI's Man Utd's cost more. It certainly did when they played eachother a few weeks ago.

Stevie B Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 would have to be the city way for me, nothing better than a last minute winner in football, and for it to win you the league/promotion would be amazing, can't believe the few city fans that left at 2-
the saint in winchester Posted 13 May, 2012 Share Posted 13 May, 2012 I honestly celebrated Citeh's winner MORE than I celebrated our win!! I guess that's because our win was expected and assured when the second goal went in. I've never known the Premier League championship decided in injury time. Before you say Arsenal in 1989, Michael Thomas' goal - that was before the Premier League.

SaintBobby Posted 14 May, 2012 Share Posted 14 May, 2012 Don't see the problem with it. Didn't celebrate it like Saints obviously, but in the sense of one goal's meaning and timing it was hard not to get carried away. If Saints had a single goal that late mean anywhere near as much I'd explode! Actually when was our last finals seconds winner?! Got used to them under MLT but not so many in recent years (probably because we either have games wrapped up or are playing sh1te!). Best example is Brighton away last season..went from 0-1 to winning 2-1 in last five or six minutes. Or were you watching the Champions League on Sky Sports at the time?
