krissyboy31 Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 Spoke to a guy on the phone today by the name of Idris. He said it was a Welsh mythical monster but I told him I knew the name from Ivor the Engine (Idris was the dragon).

HedgeEnder Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 Anyone remember watching this grisly film at school in the 80s? We were shown this at school when I was about 10 and it gave me nightmares for weeks. Even now at the age of 44 I can't bring myself to watch it......
Dr Who? Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 1 banana 2 banana 3 banana 4..... With the craziest open credits ever!

Just watched that - first time I had seen it as was abroad at BFES schools alot in the 70s and we used to get WATCH and the on video, played on machines that filled the room enough to give kids nightmares - but as you are still here, must have kept you away from farms ! so did the trick
alpine_saint Posted 16 May, 2012 Posted 16 May, 2012 (edited) Trumpton, Camberwick Green, Mary Mungo and Midge, Fingerbobs, Bagpuss, The Clangers from my early days. Anything by Gerry Anderson from Stingray to Terrahawks, including UFO and Space1999 (although not kiddy). Keep meaning to have a look at the new CGI version of Captain Scarlet, it got rave reviews. The Tomorrow People scared the living bejeesus out of me. Never got into Dr. Who. Never. Even now. Oh, and Jigsaw as my pre-pubescent body developed, I had no idea about sex but was absolutely fascinated by Janet Ellis's nipples on full-beam. Edited 16 May, 2012 by alpine_saint
alpine_saint Posted 16 May, 2012 Posted 16 May, 2012 (edited) "This is the Voice of the Mysterons, we know you can hear us Earth men!". Question for the folks hooked on Captain Scarlet all those years back: what was Captain Scarlets real name? (no Wiki cheating!!). There are some great TV shows listed above. Being born in 1964 the World of Jerry Anderson was immense when I was 5, Thunderbirds was bigger than my eyes. (with all the CGI that exists today the Thunderbirds film from a couple of years back was such a disappointment, but showed what an immense show Thunderbirds was) Captain Scarlet, Stingray (those Titans were a bit scary), Joe 90. There was a great cartoon: Marine Boy, the boy chewed Oxygum and could breathe under water: 'Elfin Safety nightmare! Hectors House The Herbs The Clangers Paul Metcalfe. (EDIT - remembered this, but have now looked on Wikipedia - did you know Captain Scarlet was from Winchester ???) And Captain Blue was Adam Svenson. Oh, and Rhapsody gave me the horn.
