Captain Black was the scariest puppet in history. FACT.

The Hood in Thunderbirds was pretty sinister at the time, for a six/seven year old. Doubt it would be permitted now as it would be deemed offensive to some far eastern religious cult or whatever.

"This is the Voice of the Mysterons, we know you can hear us Earth men!".

Question for the folks hooked on Captain Scarlet all those years back: what was Captain Scarlets real name? (no Wiki cheating!!).

There are some great TV shows listed above.

Being born in 1964 the World of Jerry Anderson was immense when I was 5, Thunderbirds was bigger than my eyes. (with all the CGI that exists today the Thunderbirds film from a couple of years back was such a disappointment, but showed what an immense show Thunderbirds was)

Captain Scarlet, Stingray (those Titans were a bit scary), Joe 90.

There was a great cartoon: Marine Boy, the boy chewed Oxygum and could breathe under water: 'Elfin Safety nightmare!

Hectors House

The Herbs

The Clangers

UFO

Brilliant - used to have the Tonka? metal Interceptor toy which fired a plastic rocket - mum said be careful as spmeone could have an eye out.... funnily enough my brother did indeed shoot me in the eye with it and the rocket was confiscated.... oh how we laughed

Dont forget Space 1999 - used to have one of those craft too...

Question.

How many others bought the entire boxed set of Thunderbirds when it came out on DVD some 7/8 years ago?

Nopoe but got Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green for my daughter - as well as Bagpuss, Clangers etc... so had many nostalgia fests - she loved them too!

There are so many I remember fondly, so just a select few:

Children of the Stones - very creepy pagan kiddie horror

The Tomorrow People - cheap ITV teatime Si-Fi but I absolutely loved it

Doctor Who - I'm old enough to just recall Troughton, but I'm still a Jon Pertwee lad really

The Flashing Blade - odd French summer holiday morning series - it went on forever and was set in a castle

Tom & Jerry - too good (if not to say horrifically violent) for kids

Loony Tunes - animation that has never been bettered

Adventures from the Riverbank - Hamster torture for the under 5's

And some I hated:

The Flower Pot Men - Bill & Ben gave me the creeps

Catweazil - Jon Pertwee gone bad

Magpie - I was a Blue Peter boy I'm afraid.
