Season Tickets 'how many will we sell next season'

With there being quite a bit of discussion about expanding the stadium etc i thought it would be good if we could have a thread wher you just put your guess at the number we will sell next season.

Taking into account segregation approx max 500, away allocation approx max 15% (FA Cup) and i think there is also a policy for minimum 5% tickets available for general sale. That would give us approx 26k available season tickets (give or take a few hundred).

It would be great if all could just put their guess at the number sold but i'm sure we will end up with various debates about facts/figures/expansion etc.

Maybe the mods could get a poll up. ie 20k, 21k, 22k, 23k, 24k, etc

So here goes, i reckon:

23,889

It really depends on how the club price it. They could keep it affordable and easily sell 23/24k, but if they give everyone massive increases in price then I'd imagine it will be below 20k.

Last seasons prices weren't too bad, and it was thought that they would be through the roof - so I think we'll be competitively priced next year.

I've said all along that they put the prices up quite a lot last year so they wouldn't have to increase them much this year. (IMO of course).

I reckon around 22k will be sold.

I'm going to really struggle to afford it and have began to accept that I won't be renewing as the price is likely to go up. If I was to renew, it would mean no away days either which I prefer to home games so may just stick to doing quite a few aways.

Don't forget they should be bringing back instalment plans.

well....considering we are quickly turning into some sort of super club, attracting fans from Dorchester to dover....I will assume 25k at the very minimum

Hey, don't underestimate us regular paying fans. My Daughter and I are from Weymouth. 8 miles further than Dorcheser.!!!!!! Lol.

Yeh I know mate but that's still another monthly expense. Plus I never just go to the game then go home. Always ends up a few pints, a bite to eat etc... And with two kids, mortgage and as the sole bread winner, it just ain't gonna happen. Has dawned on me just how much time I miss out on with the kids too as I work alot of hours Mon-Fri. Stick to a few aways and a few homes should keep me happy enough. Alot of my mates have stopped with ST's already for various reasons so have someone to watch us on the telly with when I become an armchair fan. : (

Well you'd imagine the 14k or so we had this year would renew (well the vast majority of them), then we need to factor in local people jumping on the bandwagon, say another 8k. Then there's the 10k in Dorset that will want one, 10k people from Guildford that will want season tickets, 10k people from Pompey that will want one as they're now rubbish.

Hang on a second, we're going to need a bigger ground aren't we...?

You forgot about the 5,000 Man United fans in Crowthorne & Woking who will come to St Marys to see Premier league football.

I'm not sure the club will want too many season tickets at a discount. They are pretty sure to nearly fill the stadium especially for the premium sides and nearest competitors at full price. They will probably make more money by keeping the season ticket numbers as they are.

this is true...they know that the ground will be sold out for 95% of the games next season...regardless

I seem to remember when Lowe and Cowans were in charge they put a max ceiling on ST sales (whether to allow a certain amount of people who couldn't afford or justify an ST or for cash flow purposes, I don't know). 24k rings a bell but not sure how many times if ever we sold the complete allocation.

I remember reading something similar, but I believed it was a premier league rule that only a certain %age of the stadium capacity could be set aside for season ticket sales.

To do with keeping a large base group of fans interested - perhaps over 40,000 in total - they need a good chance of coming to a handful of games per season each

Someone else posted on another thread, FA (Premier?) rules state 5% away, 5% general sale leaving up to 90% avail as home season tickets (providing the club want to go this high and the demand is there).
