S-Clarke Posted 11 May, 2012 Share Posted 11 May, 2012 According to reports all over Spain today, a £25-30m fee has been agreed with Spurs to take him to the Nou Camp. Such a shame we don't benefit from this at all....

Minty Posted 11 May, 2012 Share Posted 11 May, 2012 Fookin' 'ell. I remember watching his debut for Saints' Reserves, and getting an email from his Mum after I spelt his name wrong in my email to Saintslist afterwards... lol. How things move on eh?! saintscottofthenortham Posted 11 May, 2012 Share Posted 11 May, 2012 Wow! Fair play to him. Like others, remember like it was yesterday watching him as a young kid make his debut for us. Criminal that our past owners wrote off TE sell on clause for the sake of a few quid. We could have been looking at a right tidy packet.

I would hold a lot of things against Lowe, but this isn't one of them. If you're in the financial mess we were in, there is no point in hanging on to a sell on clause which might pay off in 4 or 5 years if you're going to go bankrupt after 1 year. Somehow ending up with Tommy Forecast on a f**king 5 year contract, that's the criminal part.

That deal and the Theo one where we went for the final cash up front installment instead of add ons that probably included clauses such as either walking on the moon etc just about kept us going long enough and not too deep in the mire to make us a viable option for our eventual takeover. There was no alternative. Anyway 10 or 15% sell on is small fry to what we will be getting now we are going back to the Prem!!
