No they dont, unless its broken because you hit a truck or bus queue at the same time.

I have a 4 year protected NCD with Swift who tell me that because of a repalcement windcreen claim I will have to pay an additional premium of £65 (Plus I had to part with £65 excess at the time of the windscreen replacement) plus my NCD will remain at 4 years

 

I can find a lower premium but am miffed that I can only transfer over 4 years NCD

Havent come across that - but I have noticed all insurance companies seem to be nibbling away at the extent of coverage and introducing extra charges. Mine tried to charge me a £350 excess when an oncoming car hit my wing mirror, even though he admitted fault and paid up.
