Why are left wingers so unfunny?

I do know what you mean. I think it comes down to the fact that socialism is not about you enjoying yourself, because that is selfish and considered a bit me, me me. You are all allowed to laugh in unison together with everyone else, but the concept of one enjoying oneself, while others are not, is totally abhorrent to them.

Hilarious first post! :D

Seeing as you are so obsessed with this theme, Dune, and post multiple threads on the subject.... I have a song for you.

Why are right wingers so repetetive?

Why are right wingers so repetetive?

Why are right wingers so repetetive?

Why are right wingers so repetetive?

If you set those lyrics to a rythmic tune, you can actually goosestep to it! ;)

Dune, our resident comic.....

And that's the funny part right there, he thinks he is funny? Or does he think he has a good sense of humour because he laughs and points at things?

If it's the latter, then I could point to a small bus full of people that laugh all the bloody time!....But I don't think humour has that much to do with it. ;)

Some right wing humour?

Chris Tarrant: Dune, you have taken the 50/50, asked the audience and tried to find a friend. I need your final answer. You have to choose between A) Empathy, and B) genocide. Which do you go for?

Dune: B!........ no....A!.....Um.....No, B!

Chris Tarrant: You are going for B?... Genocide?....... Is that your final solution?

Nothing funny to say then?

Come on, we can go head to head. You with your "Right wing humour" and me with my lefty soul devoid mind. We can duke it out!

I'll warn you though, I can be funnier than a blender full of monkeys if I put my mind to it......And remember to masturbate regularly.

Well, waiting for Dune to display some of his own humour rather than trawling youtube for bad videos is proving to be a huge waste of time.

Other ways I can waste my time include:-

A) Trying to give a sperm donation when the cubicle only provides the Maggie Thatcher Playboy edition

B) Farting God save the Queen in a way that it does not seriously improve the original version

C) Clapping my hands together repeatedly without being reminded of the sound that two tory men sound like when in private.

demonstrate your OWN sense of humour or get off the pot?

I like dune's posts. They are short and easy to read. You don't have to go digging for some secret hidden purpose when he starts threads.

I also like the way he chops and changes his opinions depending on timeframe and/or who he is arguing with. Too often people on this forum just carry on banging the same drum, being consistent in their views, etc. That doesn't generate traffic.

I for one applaud dune's heady fusion of ignorance, sneering, playground behaviour and brevity.

You just don't get him.

Pap, I'm no expert on Dune, but i'm pretty sure he doesn't do dry wit as you outlined in your post. I could be wrong, just like that time I thought trimming my eyebrows with a flamethrower was a good idea.............I digress. I do get him. I KNOW I do! I THINK I do! I'm reasonably certain I do!......OK, Maybe I don't, but what the hell, all I see when I look at his posts is a nice big juicy target. The kind of target that I wish was a woman, and my posts were a beefy 'lil man missile ready to penetrate, explore and titilate.....

Oh! What were we talking about?

So here is the collective sum of wit from the patron of this thread thus far. Case closed.

They've just been talking about this on the politics show and it's as true when it comes to politicians as it is to the Liberal Elite on here. Lefties are just plain dull and boring. FACT

...

Lefties and humour just don't mix.

 no really

I bet it's a right barrel of laughs at one of your UAF jamborees.

I'm not really sure I'd call it dry wit. More like interminable junior grade antagonism, facilitated through the wonder of the Internet.

I agree partially with your sentiments about dune making himself a target, but to be honest - I want no part of your sexual fantasy. You and dune need to work it out between you.

Where I think we'd agree is that if someone is consistently and deliberately being a d!ck, they're fair game.

Nothing to work out. He doesn't want to play with me. :( He is too busy making on the poor people thread making one or two word posts. :(

If only he realised the potential of his own thread to make a huge comedic statement!

I'd say most of the decent comedy for years has been left wing. The only right wing "comedy" I can think of off-hand would be Jim Davidson and Jeremy Clarkson.

As for left wing comedy off the top of my head:

Stewart Lee

George Carlin

Bill Hicks

Bill Maher

Eddie Izzard

Richard Herring

Alexei Sayle

Jeremy Hardy

Chris Morris

Mark Thomas

Mark Steel

plus just about every bit of satirical comedy in the eighties.

but I would say that Dune's idea of funny is a bit closer to Jeremy Clarkson than most of those and Clarkson is hugely popular. There's no right or wrong, it's just a preference.

I know you're not very bright, but it wasn't a joke.

LMFAO!!! That was hilarious!!! Wow! You are soooo on form today!

Please excuse the formatting, Pasted from an online dictionary.

[h=2]Definition of SARCASM[/h]1

: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain. Often confused with a cuttlefish, which are known for their sense of humour and sartorial elegance. Not to be confused with one eyed trouser snakes.

I would respectfully and formally suggest that being accurate and correct will not work in this thread. :)

Surely Ben Elton would be classified as Lefty and at times even funny!!
