cider saint Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Daily Telegraph is doing a poll on who Roy Hodgson should take to the EUROS. Follow the link below and vote for them as they are struggling at the moment but if we all vote for them who knows what might happen?? aha probally nothing but lets show some support for our players. Cheers. http://www.telegraph .co.uk/sport/footbal l/teams/england/9254 799/Who-should-Engla nd-manager-Roy-Hodgs on-select-for-Euro-2 012-squad.html
dubai_phil Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Nooooooooooooooooooo Kelvin needs to get into Team GB not the Euros. It's his only chance at winning anything at International Level (possibly a Bronze)
labibs Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 They spelt Kelvin's last name wrong in this poll. Guess they're not that serious about including him..!

EBS1980 Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 That poll just highlights Englands problems. No backup keepers, no pace in centre midfield and nobody to score when Rooney not playing.
voteforpedro Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Hadn't realised Hodgson be picking teams based on the outcome of polls on the Telegraph website. Have done my bit and voted, fingers crossed we can get enough votes.
MOSaint Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Roy Hodgson isn't going to take players who played last season in the Championship to a major tournament. Shame in Rickie's case as Rooney aside England have a real lack of talent up front but, where he hasn't been able to show his ability at PL level just yet, he hasn't got a chance of a call up.
Matthew Le God Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Roy Hodgson isn't going to take players who played last season in the Championship to a major tournament. Robert Green has a reasonable chance of going, yes I know he has played in the Premier League before and England. But you said "who played last season in the Championship", which is what Green did. Plus technically, by your reasoning Hodgson won't take Scott Parker as he played in the Championship for West Ham at the start of the season!
opthomps Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 That poll just highlights Englands problems. No backup keepers, no pace in centre midfield and nobody to score when Rooney not playing. This. As lovely as they both are I don't want to see them playing for the national side. Then again we have a dirth of quality all round.
Deano6 Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Is it April 1? Or as the Mexicans call it "Cinco de Mayo".
buctootim Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Or as the Mexicans call it "Cinco de Mayo". The Mexicans call April 1st 'Fifth of May'? Odd.
Saint Lindford Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 For the Euro's no, Team GB at the Olympics maybe but I would prefer them to be resting on a beach somewhere before reporting back to SMS for pre-season training fresh and raring to go. COYRs
st_tommy Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Why do fans want their team's players to play for their country? 1) They come back injured 2) They come back knackered and are hopeless for the next league game and 3) it puts them in the shop window and we end up having to sell our best players. It must be just some sort of ego trip that supporters are on so they can brag to their mates that Saints can boast X number of internationals. It's the last thing we want surely especially if they're flying round the world and back to play a bit part in a pretty meaningless game.

It's the last thing we want surely especially if they're flying round the world and back to play a bit part in a pretty meaningless game. Maybe we want it for the players? It's a huge honor for most of them and to see them play with pride and passion is always a pleasure.

I think that we all know that - its just a bit of fun bring them to other people's attention.
redkeith Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 I voted, but I found it hard to pick the number of choices for CB, CM and CF. Jageilka, Cahil and Lescott are good. Rio is past it, Terry is to busy trying to look hard and King is a fitness gamble. Are there really no other english centre halfs ? Barry and Parker are good, but Gerrard and Lampard are past it. Up front Rooney and Crouch are the only ones in any kind of form ( SRL and Holt aside). The wingers do offer some options. First Defender, goal kick, goalies hands or occasionally find one of there own players. Looking at that lot, it's ashame Harry didn't get the job, as it would be fun to see the press go for him when they are on the early flight home. Its a good job I'm not that patriotic, as I would be in for a disappointing summer.
Leicestersaint Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Getting in the England team would not be a good thing for our players I fear.
Wiggles31 Posted 10 May, 2012 Posted 10 May, 2012 Whislt it'll never happen in a million yeats it is certainly nice to see Lambert and Davis getting some recognition. They'll be two absolutely vital players next season. The only way Lambert will get a call up from Hodgson is if he sets the PL alight next season....... Watch this space.
farawaysaint Posted 12 May, 2012 Posted 12 May, 2012 Just to reiterate this story http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2769254,00.html? is why I'd want our players to play nationally. It's his dream ffs he's given us so much joy let the big man enjoy himself
Thedelldays Posted 12 May, 2012 Posted 12 May, 2012 if you are going to pick form players at the back...i SHOULD be Lescott and another.. it won't be though
