Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 I had a few on ignore earlier in the Season. Personally, I tend to put people on Ignore who know nothing about football, as this is a football forum and I don't care to have threads filled with misinformed cr@ppy information. It is why I had Turkish on ignore for so long. However, I have now removed this, as I find it entertaining that he threw his toys out the pram, cried off to TUI, and then crawled sheepishly back after realising no-one on there liked him either. I think I only have Verbal on ignore now.

Johnny Shearer Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 Good to have an ignore function. I can't be bothered to read posts by the same people saying 'Saints are crap, we've lost the game blah, blah, blah' minutes into a match thread. Alternatively who cares if you mix up their and there? Too many people on here act like the grammar police. Or some threads just go around in circles. Whats the point? Just agree to disagree instead of micro analysing every word and the context of the previous post!

Dog Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 It'd be useful if it worked, like facebook just removing all trace of said user. But when they start the same old threads every other day, try to dominate every thread and troll to the extent that every second person quotes them, it's absolutely pointless. eurosaint Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 In conclusion : Ignore the ignore list ! If you want to ignore someone, just ignore them, even the ignorant and the ignoramusses !
Turkish Posted 10 May, 2012 Author Share Posted 10 May, 2012 Have to say that's exactly how I see it. If you want to ignore someone, then scroll past them or if you can't trust yourself then use the ignore feature, but don't go announcing it. It's as bad as announcing you're flouncing off and retiring from forums FFS. You're dead right Steve. What i should have done was promote myself as the voice of the fans, put a few leading "i'm ITK" style posts on here. Set up a failed fans group and then when everyone got bored with me being a helmet sent a few "i'm outta here" PM's to people before returning later in a blaze of glory. Frank's cousin Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 So, this is a thread about how nobody is ignoring anyone? Magic. I ignore the blatently sexist 'nun' posts on the match threads... with their semi exposed delightful norks being a distraction from the serious business of wrrying about how saints are doing. scotty Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 I've never used the ignore function on any site. Most of the sites I go on are only rendered amusing by the WUMs, this one included.

Touched a nerve Turk LOL Just being honest in that announcing that you have someone on ignore is in exactly the same category as announcing your leaving a forum. It's a bit hypocritical to knock one, when you've been guilty of the other.

sambosa75 Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 I'm totally aware that the ignore button is irrelevant. Everybody ignores me all the time automatically My ex wife ignored everything I ever said My ex Boss and my current boss never reply to emails My sister ignored me on my last trip "don't stress Mum out about her Grand Daughter's wedding" Oh no off she went on one telling me how to get somebody onto an airplane You lot ignore me The girls at the Checkout counter ignore me The idiots at the Bank ignore me Hell, even FMDP ignores me (Hon I am awake at 6am because I need to do my residence visa renewal today, I TOLD you that 5 times this week already, NO I cannot come to the Dentist with you) I tell you what. I farking LOVE it. Everyone Ignores me so I Do what I want. It's because you're Southampton.

It's a bit hypocritical to knock one, when you've been guilty of the other. Okay maybe the first time you telll someone they are on ignore might be honest but is it really necessary to bang on about it on virtually every post? even contributing nothing to a thread except a post stating that someone is on ignore its the sort of self important nonsense you might expect from someone who would attempt to create a fans group or try and be a fan on the board but not from any normal person.
