They can fight anywhere. They just needed a boxing authority to authorise it, is strange how it works though. Also a strange choice seeing as Haye is a Millwall fan. Surprised the police gave the go ahead for it.

Colinjb Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 I am looking forward to the fight, even though I don't feel it should be going ahead in the first place. Purely taking it on a sporting level, Chisora impressed me against Wladimir Klitschko. He had a go and although eventually outclased he showed great heart and desire, certainly more then David Haye did versus Vitali. It is a chance for Haye to hopefully revive his reputation as a boxer and for Chisora to prove he has what it takes to truly establish himself as a world class fighter.... and after his truly dreadful fight against Tyson Fury not long ago that is quite an achievement. St Marco Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 , Chisora impressed me against Wladimir Klitschko. He had a go and although eventually outclased he showed great heart and desire, certainly more then David Haye did versus Vitali I must of missed those fights This will however be a one sided beating. Chisora has heart but he lacks ability at the top level. He fought and lost to Fury who is a joke who dodges any of the decent fighters i.e Price. As much as Haye is a total dickhead he is a very good fighter. He hits hard and is very fast. He throws combinations rather then simple jab, jab, grab like a lot in the division do i.e Klitcshkos. If the best Haye turns up and the best Chisora turns up Haye will beat him by knockout. Would much rather have seen Haye, dump Booth and move over to a trainer like Roach, get serious and copy his friend Khan by fighting the best out there. But nope it is all about the money again. niceandfriendly Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 What a ****ing come down for Haye. From talk of "cleaning up" the heavyweight division, to fighting one of the biggest bums out there. Depressing. People suggesting that this is a "good, exciting fight" tells you all you need to know about the state of the heavyweight division. It really neede Haye to sort it out, but unfortunately he ****ed up. And now he's back to fighting bums. This is an even worse fight than Audley. The Cat Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 What a joke. Anyone who pays to see this after Haye's last 2 PPV's clearly mental. I was a huge Haye fan, been to see him fight 5 times but have lost all respect for him over the past year. No doubt I'll hook up to an internet stream on the night but it's nothing more than a circus fight and serves no purpose other than to make them both a load of cash. Just a pity a bunch of gullible punters will line their pockets.

In all fairness to Haye, bar the Kilitcshkos, there isn't exactly much talent out there for him to fight. Apparently they tried to get a fight with one of the Klitcshkos this summer but they wanted to fight later in the year, hence why he took this fight. Can't blame him for wanting to earn a few million to destroy a bum like Chisora who he quite clearly dislikes.

The Cat Posted 9 May, 2012 Share Posted 9 May, 2012 yeah, a night out in london, a night of boxing...or a night out in southampton again...hmmmm tough choice You'll pay a fortune for a ticket. Doubt there would be many going for under £50, and then you'll be far away from the action. Add on beer, food, hotel, travel etc and you'll be looking at way north of £200 for a crap fight. If you have that sort of money to burn then fair enough, but don't then come on here next season using lack of finances as an excuse for your continual non-attendance at Saints games! If he really wanted to fight Vitali he could have easily done it, as after his pathetic loss to Vladimir the older brother knew he'd cane Haye no problem. You lose all respect if you continually mouth off but don't back it up with action, which is exactly what Haye has done. As for other heavyweights there are a couple of vaguely credible opponents he could fight, but they wouldn't allow him to take the public for a ride and make so much money. Saint in Paradise Posted 9 May, 2012 Share Posted 9 May, 2012 The British Boxing Board of Control has condemned the proposed fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora and threatened to remove the licence of anyone involved. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/18011917 Wonder where they will get the officials from ? Dig Dig Posted 9 May, 2012 Share Posted 9 May, 2012 Another example of boxing's decline as the noble art, and turning into WWE style theatre. Never thought I'd say, but even MMA has more credibility now. Noble art? I love boxing and as a sport it's a great discipline but it's always straddled the line between professionalism and WWF type hype. Rumble in the jungle, revered as one of the greatest fights put on.....promoted by a man who stamped a man to death, held in a country ruled by a ruthless dictator and hosted in a stadium which was also used as a slaughter house. Soton7 Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 This should be an interesting one. Haye has everything to lose whereas Chisora as nothing. Haye is coming into this fight after a couple of disappointing performances. Haye starts blowing after 4 rounds so it will be interesting to see how his stamina is with the constant pressure that Chisora will apply. Chisora has a solid chin but it will be interesting to see if Haye can get through with any combos. Everyone knows that when he fought Fury he was 20lbs over weight, and was not motivated. If Chisora has a solid 8 week training camp, then I can see him taking this on points, especially on a Warren promotion.

Can't blame him for wanting to earn a few million to destroy a bum like Chisora who he quite clearly dislikes. You are of course 100% right, the heavyweight division right now is just dreadful. I saw an interesting programme about it when I was in the states recently and they said a lot of it has to do with youngsters now picking other sports there, mainly american football or basketball. Boxing doesn't have the respect and prestige it once had and it has only itself to blame. I love boxing, I box myself as others know but as a sport it is in the gutter. We have dodgy judges, dodgy refs, dodgy promoters, dodgy boxers, dodgy doctors and pretty much dodgy everything! Look at Khans last fight. He was the champion, went to Washington to fight their local boy, had local judges of which one was as dodgy as it gets, had some supposed IBF official sat next to him at ringside talking to him about his scores, had a ref who didn't seem to know the rules and punished Khan for pushing which is correct but didn't Punish Peterson for holding and leading with his head in attempts to cut Khan. Khan won that fight even with the deductions but yet the judges gave it to Peterson....and the thing that makes it even worse is chances are he was on steroids! Those were the things that had to happen for Khan to lose and none of them should of happened. Boxing needs to change or it will just continue to fade away. There needs to be just one council not the millions there are now. It needs to follow the same set-up that football and other sports have. Needs to have less weight divisions and less belts because it makes it easy for people to duck each other. The best should be fighting the best. If Haye was decent and wanted to do it the right way he should of asked for his licence back and fought a couple of guys to get to rank one and become the mandatory challenger to either of the Klitchskos. Haye lost to Wlad, he had a poor fight. Rather then pick himself up, dust himself off, hit the gym and come back with more determination he *****ed about his toe, went to Munich to gatecrash a press conference in the hope he would anger Vitali and get his fight. Doing that itself is lame because it shows Haye would rather use his mouth to get those fights rather then his fists. If he is as good as he says then he would fight a couple of guys and put himself into contention for a title shot. But he went from that to brawling with Chisora who is a bum and setting up a so called "grudge" match.....haven't we been here before? Fraudly Harrison? Haye it is all about money. No wonder none of the ppv channels wanted anything to do with it as nobody really cares, they were stung the last time the media tried to do this angle. This fight is a joke and it's right the media here have turned on it.

egg Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 It makes a mockery of the BBoC but I don't give a monkeys, it should be a decent fight. Both boxers have a stage and a good performance by either of them will get them back into the big league. Regardless of the views of the media and the BBoC this fight will probably help the division in the short and medium term.
