Jimmy_D Posted 7 May, 2012 Share Posted 7 May, 2012 AFC Totton in the Playoff Final being shown online at the moment. http://www.oxbox.tv/oxpage.php?page=livetv Could be worth a local friendly match next season maybe? They'll be up to the same league as Eastleigh if they win this.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 7 May, 2012 Share Posted 7 May, 2012 Just back from Oxford where Totton shot themselves in the foot and lost 4-2. They were the better side until they started to leak silly goals. Goal nos 2 for Oxford City scored from the spot by ex-Saint Steve Basham. CLOTH EARS Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 He FF what did you think of the referee? I thought he was shocking! He was drafted in late on as the ref from Bristol was stuck on the M4 due to it being closed. The pen should never have been given as the Oxford player handled the ball 1st and he was also 3 or 4 yards offside, that goal was crucial as it knocked Totton back and gave Oxford a spring in their step. The 4th goal shouldn't have been allowed either as there was a foul by Basham on Pettefer. As for the ref booking Sherborne for diving, well that was a joke he was sandwiched between two defenders and fouled and it should've been a pen. I don't think Totton were anywhere near their best but the referee was truelly appaling. What did you think of the pitch, it was under a bit of water when i arrived and the ref allowed it to start with puddles on it, it reminded me of the Hereford pitch when Ronnie Radford scored against Newcastle! Fit for a play off final on mmmmm. Anyway, it may sound like sour grapes but i will take some convincing that the ref didn't play a major part in Oxfords win. Great turn out from the Totton fans. You are not wrong at all - the ref was very young and blew his whistle far too much. Did you see the linesman - looked like he had connections with the Krays. Pitch was crap but playable.
