Thedelldays Posted 6 May, 2012 Posted 6 May, 2012 55 years this show has been going for. old Patrick Moore is getting on a bit....legend
hamster Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 I lied about him being a skate. He's not that bad. But he did say this: "We must take care," he continues in the interview. "There may be another war. The Germans will try again, given another chance. A Kraut is a Kraut is a Kraut. And the only good Kraut is a dead Kraut. There can be good, free, honourable, decent Germans. I haven't met them myself, but I'm sure they exist." Read more: http://www.theweek.co.uk/people-news/46588/sir-patrick-moore-only-good-kraut-dead-kraut#ixzz1uAIHTWpn

Seaford Saint Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 Patrick Moore is a legend.......wonderful servant to astronomy...
sussexsaint Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 The guy is a legend and has been involved in some very important scientific discorveries in his time as well. He is bitter about the war as it killed his fiancé and he never loved again A couple of years back when I was reall into my astrophotography my then 7 year old son sent him a picture he drew. By return of post the guy sent him loads of signed stuff a lovely letter and invited us over for tea. His house is astonishing ( it's where they film the show' there are photos on the walls of him with the queen, Einstein, the wright brothers etc. sadly he is now very very disabled. A real gent

A real gent that is great. I used to watch the sky at night when I was a kid...and watched it last night for the first time in ages and it was sad to see him so old and disabled.
benjii Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 I've been to his house for dinner too. He played the xylophone. Lovely stuff.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 Whats your point hammy ? Probably just not aquainted with the time when you could say whatever you wanted, it was your opinion and nothing else. Enoch Powell would be in gaol on a permanent basis nowadays.
hamster Posted 8 May, 2012 Posted 8 May, 2012 I was unaware of his frailty, I take it back. It's okay to be an infirm racist, even more so if you've met Albert Einstein. I remember love thy neighbour btw. Sidesplitting.
