Master Bates Posted 6 May, 2012 Share Posted 6 May, 2012 On Botley Road, 9 police cars outside my house, dog walk taped off, old bill with bullet proof vests, police dogs and me with no idea what's going on. There was a rape down there last month too. I wonder what's happened this time.

alpine_saint Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 I used to live very close to there, and a relative lives in that mini council estate down towards the Portsmouth Road roundabout. Do we know what it was all about now ?

Window Cleaner Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 I think it's now up to 20p Damn slippery those little 20p pieces. Now a nice crisp 10 bob note or a giant half-crown coin is far more difficult to lose. Always felt safe with a half-crown in my pocket personally.
hamster Posted 8 May, 2012 Share Posted 8 May, 2012 My dear old nan always told me to keep me hand on me ha'penny. Apparently it referred to when it was considered prudent trot a girl to tuck a coin in the hem of their knickerbockers for emergencies. Neither my nan nor I have ever lived in sholing.
