St Landrew Posted 11 November, 2008 Posted 11 November, 2008 Apologies for this not being in the appropriate forum, but I want to get some quick responses. How are your Google searches going if you make any..? When you click on them, do they work..? Mine don't, for anywhere. I get the search address results and they don't link.
Minsk Posted 11 November, 2008 Posted 11 November, 2008 I had a similar problem, for 30 mins or so, a few days ago but all is fine now.
Robsk II Posted 11 November, 2008 Posted 11 November, 2008 Infract yourself for wilful and flagrant breaching of the forum rules.
St Landrew Posted 11 November, 2008 Author Posted 11 November, 2008 OK, it's obviously local. I'm still getting search results, but none of the links work. My Favourites lists work perfectly. Rather odd, that. I'll try another search engine.
St Landrew Posted 11 November, 2008 Author Posted 11 November, 2008 Ah... My PC has a virus. I'm off to sort it out. Bye peeps.
saint_stevo Posted 11 November, 2008 Posted 11 November, 2008 better hope it isn't Smart Antivirus 2009 or the like
St Landrew Posted 11 November, 2008 Author Posted 11 November, 2008 better hope it isn't Smart Antivirus 2009 or the like My brother had that on his PC. he told me he'd tried quite a few things to iradicate it. I low-level formatted his system HDD and the virus mother too. They don't survive that stuff. And he got a spanking new install. I think I might do exactly the same with mine. It's quicker and less fraught with problems.
St Landrew Posted 16 November, 2008 Author Posted 16 November, 2008 better hope it isn't Smart Antivirus 2009 or the like It was Smart Antivirus 2009. I got it pretty much beaten, although I couldn't solve the go.google redirection on Google searches. Notably, only IE7 was affected - the Windows edition of Safari being immune; that'll please Essruu..! So that meant, for a couple of reasons, I have done two complete and new installations on my PCs in the last week [the other was for a defective WD system HDD], and one on a relative's. Consequently, they are all humming along nicely now. Every cloud..!
