Absolutely gutted. They took Hip Hop to a new audience. Innovative and groundbreaking. Their music has been part of the soundtrack of my life.

Sad news. He was a bit of a legend in my eyes.

Only 47, thats daylight robbery. I still rate Licence to ill as my favourite by the beasties, and I lost three VW badges off my golf back then!!

Had been battling it for years but always thought it was something in the background and just took it for granted.

Huge shame - thought their latest album was excellent, a real return to form. Listened to it nonstop during last season's promotion push.

Absolutely crushed by this news. Felt like crying when I found out tbh. Growing up in the 90s when they were huge they were a band that I got into big time when I hit 11 or 12. Still one of my favourites.

 

Not only was MCA a brilliant MC, he was part of a whole movement of popular music. Any hip hop record by a white guy today, they've got the Beasties to thank. They got laughed at, but their music did all the talking for them.

 

So gutted I didn't get to see them live, but Adam's music lives on.

One of the high points of my life so far, fantastic memories.
