Verbal Kint Posted 5 May, 2012 Share Posted 5 May, 2012 Hoe difficult do people think it will be to get away tickets next year? Bigger allocations but i'm expecting demand to be high. Will you need to be a season ticket holder to get a ticket for away games or will we revert to having poor away followings as we did before we were relegated from the prem and all games reach general sale? Legod Third Coming Posted 5 May, 2012 Share Posted 5 May, 2012 I've never met anyone that struggled to get a ticket in the premier legue either. Mrs Turkish worked at the club in this pwriod some of it in the office during this period and she says no time were we turning away these thousands of fans you seem to believe there were. We've got lots of fans that will only go to a few games a season, let's not forget how many birthday parties, holidays, surprise bills, traffic problems and work commitments people experienced for less glamorous games this season, they aren't going to disappear just because we're in the premier league. There were glamourous games this season??!!!!

Mattio Posted 5 May, 2012 Share Posted 5 May, 2012 This season is likely to be the first one I've been in a position to afford/ live near enough to get a season ticket, and would have got one if we were in the BSS. I understand the distain towards the 'glory fans' though, the people sat near me at the Cov game clearly had not visited SMS in a good few years. Hopefully they'll reward those who have had a season ticket all through the years but I don't want to be punished because I didn't.

sotonjoe Posted 5 May, 2012 Share Posted 5 May, 2012 Perhaps the club shouldn't be discounting renewals, and perhaps they should heavily discount first time season ticket purchases instead in an effort to encourage new fans who want to come and see Premier League Football. Renewals could be priced at between £600 and £700 depending on which area of the ground you buy a seat in, whilst new tickets could be at an introductory rate of no more than £400 for the first season only. Us regular season ticket holders who will go whatever really don't need any price incentive to make us buy our tickets; we'll be there whatever! sandwichsaint Posted 5 May, 2012 Share Posted 5 May, 2012 Totally agree, can't wait to be wallet raped myself. Those of us who've seen 15-20 games a season home and away for the last 7 years should feel privileged to pay the JCL Prem Lge prices next year. As Bob Marley nearly sang: No ST, no cry. Turkish Posted 5 May, 2012 Share Posted 5 May, 2012 At the end of the day no one is forcing you to pay it. If you don't like it dont go. I have always maintained football will not be for me when we get to £35-£40 a game if we are a bottom half or midtable premier league side. Hence why I won't be going to Chelsea and QPR etc next season. If you want us to be successful, sign decent players and play decent football you have to pay for it, simple as that. teamsaint Posted 5 May, 2012 Share Posted 5 May, 2012 Absolute nonsense! Are you suggesting Saints only have 29,000 fans that would want to see each of the 19 Premier League home games? 29,000 to watch a Saints team of Premier League players in the most high profile league in the world? As I said, even in the year we came 20th and relegated a large number of games sold out and the average was over 30,000. In the PL I never had a ST and I NEVER missed a home game I wanted to buy for. Bit nip and tuck sometimes, but always got one, through normal channels. Hope there is a membership scheme or similar though.

alehouseboys Posted 6 May, 2012 Share Posted 6 May, 2012 I've seen on another club's forum where someone had done a comparison of some Premier League clubs and the average (ignoring London) adult ST 'Best' seats in the house were in the £500s. Villa's lowest was £285, Blackburn's £225. Of course you can double that for the top London clubs but that is for the most expensive seats. West Ham are rewarding loyalty and offering adult season tickets from £425 to those who have had a ST for the past 5 years.

Sour Mash Posted 6 May, 2012 Share Posted 6 May, 2012 If I remember rightly when we moved to SMS season tickets were about £500 so if they are less than £600 11 years on it isn't too bad a deal. It's still a bloody rip as football is generally mind. Was sorting some old stuff out in my dark and dingy bedsit yesterday and found my season ticket from 2002/03 - renewal in the Northam was £451. Saint137 Posted 6 May, 2012 Share Posted 6 May, 2012 You've never had it so good. I remember regularly queuing for 3 hours at The Dell to get general sale tickets before I had an ST. Back then you needed to go on the waiting list for an ST and to do that you had to have a certain number ticket stubs from previous games. Joining the Masons was probably easier. I'm expecting £600 for the ends, £700 for centres.

They'll price it based on the standard of opposition rather than the amount of games we play this season. Guarantee your tickets for Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal etc is more of a selling point than trying to highlight the fact they'll save a few quid as we only have 19 games this season. I got shouted down and called all sorts of names on here a while back for daring to question our low attendances and was told there is a financial crisis going on, people that they were skint, there was a recession on, times are hard, they can't make evening games due to work, they've got family commitments, holidays to pay for, their new council tax bill was higher than expected, there are road works on the a34, family parties this weekend, Somethg about christmas just around the corner or just gone etc. Under those circumstances it was wrong to questions people for not going to games a support the team in what many claim is greatest time ever to be a saints fan.
