Season Ticket Pricing

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

Reading have published their pricing structure for next year :

Season Tickets back on sale from 15th May

2012/13 Season Tickets go on sale from 9am on Tue 15th May to new applicants, with adult tickets priced from £525 and concessions from £330. Kids season tickets start at just £150.

Royalty points criteria will apply - click here for further details and how to purchase.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just noting it for benchmarking. £525 seems a fair price. £150 is a great price for kids!!! Let's see where we come in.

Be nice if they did some sort of loyalty discount for those who have been coming regularly for the last 4 years or something.

I'd imagine season ticket renewals will be cheaper than first time buyers.

I hope its not 700 quid. it was 350 the season before this, so that would be a 100% increase in 2 seasons!

Some might venture that the league we are in now is 200% better than the league we were in 2 years ago.

Absolutely...was saying the same thing myself.....if you've been there (had a ST) during the **** times...would be nice to have some kind of recognition now that we've finally got back

When did we have sh*t times?

Besides, as has been said, there is typically discount for those who had a season ticket in the previous year.

£525 is a fair price but most Reading fans (if they had any sense) renewed a few weeks back when they offered their 'Early Bird' deal which was just £350 for adults. I think this was also offered for first time buyers too at the time.

This maybe the "affluent south" but Southampton is a bit more working class than many southern regions and has a lot of people on below national average salaries so let's hope not too many are priced out.

From the Play Off defeat until Swindon away in 2009, and then September 2010.

Agreed regarding loyalty discount being a cheaper renewal price. Would be nice if renewals held firm and the JCLs got utterly wallet-raped.

Why? If you go to a cinema and watch a sh*t film would you expect discount the next time you went because the last film you saw there was sh*t?

I bet you're a season-ticket waver, aren't you?

F*ck me. Its almost as if the forum uber-fans don't want a regularly filled stadium.

If I remember rightly when we moved to SMS season tickets were about £500 so if they are less than £600 11 years on it isn't too bad a deal. It's still a bloody rip as football is generally mind.

True, that would represent relative value for money. Saying that, with the reduction in games there's going to be a significant "price per game" increase whatever happens.

For those of you who think you're going to get a discount just because you bought a season ticket when we were in an inferior league are living in cloud cuckoo land,so ****ing what?,you bought a season ticket big clap for you.

I like many others have been going for 40 years,I followed them all around the country/Europe and I've had a season ticket on and off for years,I've spent hundreds in the shop and been to some crap midweek games miles from home on wet evenings having taken time off of work to go,I bought a season ticket when we got relegated from the prem and I expect nothing from the club apart from to be entertained.

If you think you deserve something just because you bought a season ticket (your choice) in the championship or L1 then dream on......you are just a customer nothing more nothing less.

No chance, I think they're d1cks, but the fact is that anyone who only wants to watch Premier League opposition deserves to have to pay a premium for it. I'm there to watch Saints and have been for the last 7 years.

I think Mr Cortese has made this more than clear in the past couple of seasons with his various fan-unfriendly policies.

And they will, new season tickets are more expensive than renewals.

They already do pay a premium for it. Renewal season tickets cost less than standard first-time buys.

You're assuming everyone who wants an ST this season is a JCL, which is ridiculous. There are loads that aren't. Myself for instance; for each of the past 3 seasons I've lived abroad for more than 6 months each season, so there was no point in renewing the ST. This year, not the case, so it'll be season ticket time. And I'll pay a premium for it, rightly so. Nice to see that there are some that hope that cost will be through the roof though, cheers for that.

Ive had a ST since the time we were first in the Prem and ive continued to have one throughout the bad times and all of the long way back to the Premiership. That is the choice i made. All i want is for STs to be reasonablily priced so we see a full stadium every week.

Everyones circumstances are different and although i bet everyone would like to be able to afford a ST,this is not always possible. This is why i hate those ****s who wave their STs at other fans,as if this makes them out to be better.I think between £550-650 would be a right price.

I think a better idea is to give a heavily discounted price of a pint to those of us who have been through the bad times.

There is meant to be a proper direct debit system these season as well.

I think i heard/read it's being reintroduced due to the new credit card season tickets. If you miss a payment they will just block your card at the electronic turnstiles.

Yeah! under 11's going free (with a paying adult) in the Chapel is terrible.

Yeah and an U11 could turn up on the day of the game, hand over £2 and they're in the Chapel!

Anywhere else in the ground only £7 for them. £12 for a U17 in the Chapel.

I think that is a great, 'fan-friendly' policy!

Do people think that there's a good chance of getting a Season Ticket when they come out?

I was a Sseason Ticket Holder in the 06/07 and 07/08 seasons but gave it up for just regular tickets because of University.

Now I've finished Uni and we're in the PL in gagging to get a season ticket this season, but think I probably won't be able to get one when they come out?

Thoughts anyone, does this sound about right, or should I get one fine?

I & my best mate are considering getting season tickets together

I had 1 as a kid at the dell in days when under 16 kid 17+ adult

I have never had the money since to commit to a ST but have still been to about half home games each season

Reason for wanting ST this time is mates boy has really got into saints last couple of years

BUT price will be the deciding factor

Below £570 deffinatly & spend loads in megastore

Up to £665 probably

Up to £760 maybe

Over £760 forget it

Will the OAP age go up to 70 this year....How many will hand back their ST when they get charged a £1.00 for parking at the stadium.....

This never fails to make me laugh

Have the nominations for the "I wish I'd never done that" award of the season closed yet?

I'll decide on whether to renew once the pricing comes out as my nippers has been free for the last 3 years and under the U11 rule would be this year as well.

If mine goes up by silly money and his is no longer cheap then they may have to go.

That said, a decent DD scheme and I'm in.

Thought they'd sell out. Before when we were in the PL my mate always used to tell me 'getting a match ticket is like gold dust' and 'don't even think about getting a season ticket, they're impossible to come by' so i guessed I always believed that it would be nigh-on impossible?

It'll be a sell-out every match like the good ol'days I would've thought, so I just guessed it'd be very difficult to get a season ticket this season

Your mate was talking out of his arse. The most season tickets we sold in the premier league was about 23k. If you wanted a ticket for any game you got one, you just had to make a bit of an effort for the big games, like ring up or go down the stadium the morning they went on sale.

I couldn't afford to go to every game this season but someone I know wants me to get "wallet raped" if I decide to get a season ticket next year. ¦~\

I'm happy that I'm now in a better financial position which might enable me to do so but its a real off-putter reading this uberfan stuff.

Thanks. This has settled my nerves a bit, would be crestfallen if I didn't get one for next season.

We sold about 15k this season, so assuming everyone renews there will still be 14,000 tickets available come new ST applications!

Reckon with current capacity they would only ever allow approx 27k max season tickets to be sold. Don't actually think we will sell that many but maybe 22-25k. Bit of a tough one to guess in the current economic climate.

Glory hunter.

Been waiting 7 years for us to get promoted. Not going to squander the opportunity to see the team I love pit themselves against the best-of-the-best in the Premier League.

As said above, I was also a season ticket holder in 06/07 and 07/08 and went to almost every game in 06/07. Unfortunately haven't been able to have one since then because of University, but have attended roughly half home games and half away games since...that's during the FLC relegation season and our 1st/2nd seasons in League 1.

Hardly a glory hunter I think.

Love this club, and so proud they are back in the Premier League, my aim is to go to every match home and away next season :)
