Said they are planning on keeping the original features (towers, turbine room etc) which would be cool enough, but they have also applied for the largest single tired stand in Europe (15,000 capacity) behind one of the goals.

Have to admit I'm rather jealous. If done right it will be the best stadium in England by a mile! Was wondering how even Roman could afford it (they have offered to contribute towards a new Norther Line station amongst other things) but then again the land at Stamford Bridge must be worth an absolute fortune!

Saying that though, it could end up like the toilet in the Ocean or whatever the skates "concept" was called...

25,000 but it's standing

I think it's just the one end these days, 3 sides of the ground are two-tiered. But don't they put seats in for International/European matches, does that knock more than 10k off the capacity?

If it comes off for Chelsea, that could be one spectacular stadium...wouldn't wanna be paying the likely admission prices each home game tho!

As new grounds go, would be absolutely brilliant, one of my favourite, iconic buildings in London and Battersea is a stones.throw from Chelsea and is very much a Chelsea area in terms of support traditionally. Having said that whichever plank redevolped Stamford Bridge should never work on a football ground again, waste of a great old ground.

Any designs floating around yet or haven't they got that far?

Utterly bizarre! :D

Not sure where this image is from, doesn't look like a football stadium so may just be a design for development of the site with offices/housing/hotel/retail etc rather than Chelsea Football club.

Check out the Indianapolis Colts stadium. Think/ hope/ heard it will be similar to that.

Googled it the other day and can only say "wow", didn't think the yanks had that in em!

I think it's a good thing that they are looking to build a single-tiered end, no doubt for their more

vocal home support, aimed at improving the shocking atmospheres in British football stadiums.

Seems more are going this way again with Liverpool planning a massive new Kop if they move

and Tottenham's must be around 15k if that comes off (the dog's wotsnames imo)...

Hope they bare this in mind if SMS ever needed expanding.
