beatlesaint Posted 25 February, 2013 Share Posted 25 February, 2013 Still better than Harding. You really sure about that ?
Appy Posted 25 February, 2013 Share Posted 25 February, 2013 You really sure about that ? Yes. Think of the levels the 2 were playing at and are now. Fox is much better than Harding.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 25 February, 2013 Share Posted 25 February, 2013 I think he's better than a lot give him credit for. The game isn't exactly overflowing with decent left backs. ^ like
Tokyo-Saint Posted 25 February, 2013 Share Posted 25 February, 2013 I think people totally underestimate just how good he is His game has improved. Very good player now! Top class delivery, wouldn't want him sold at all. So I'm just looking around the Premier League at left back... Apart from Ashley Cole who is absolutely top class, we have players like Riise, Aruelio, Warnock, Baines, Bennett, Wilson, Taylor, Shorey... Now tell me - which of these does Fox fall so far behind?? I'm a fan of Fox, but I would be very surprised to see Spurs go in for him. I think Lallana, Fox & the coaches will all work hard on their tactics down the left wing in pre season. He's a good player. Like all of these - applications to be the next saints researcher on football manager if MLG ever steps down.
mitch01 Posted 25 February, 2013 Share Posted 25 February, 2013 So many have gone so far OTT with their comments on Fox. Good player, struggling in the Prem. No need for all the vitriol on here at all, especially given his strong contribution last season.

Its ridiculous really, and I've seen a few comments saying he was average last season as well. He was very important to us last year, and probably one of the best LB's in the league. He's just not stepped up to the prem like many of our other players.
captainchris Posted 25 February, 2013 Share Posted 25 February, 2013 I think those that give Fox stick for his defensive duties perhaps need to also consider how much slack he has to take up because Lallana is all over the place trying to make gameplays up front - i.e. sometimes he's having to cope on his own at the back. Personally I don't think we'll see much better unless big money is spent or we nurture another Bale through to the 1st team. Be careful what you wish for - he is part of the Saints TEAM - not a good idea to start breaking up that up. It's got nothing to do with AL - Fox is dreadful whoever plays in front of him. Just look at the upturn in results when he was dropped - immediate effect! Fox is truly aewful and continually costs us goals.... Has no awareness and no marking ability - he just cannot read a game.... The idea that the Spuds would buy Fox is totally laughable......
John McGrath's Jockstrap Posted 27 February, 2013 Share Posted 27 February, 2013 Fox has the spatial awareness of a 2 year old. Watch him closely and you can see most of the time he ball watches the game in front of him. He then throws his arms around at the rest of the back line at the first whiff of danger to compensate for his lack of reading of the game. Contrast with Shaw who reads the game so well - in fact at 2 years old he was probably better than Fox.

Whilst we can have a sensible debate about a player with some skill like Rimirez there is no similar debate to be taken seriously about such a poor player as Fox.... I agree with your post whole heartedly. What on earth he doing on the same pitch as the rest of the team is impossible to fathom. Surely this time the manager will see the light!
