FloridaMarlin Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 You dont go anyway though do you? However this is a fantastic place to visit during the summer. I dont have kids but went last summer a couple of times and will most certainly be visiting it again several times this year. http://www.hawk-conservancy.org/index.asp In the words of Alan Partridge: "I know a cracking owl sanctuary."

Brussels Saint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Off to watch The Sweden England game in Kiev. Car to Berlin with 2 mates, then the Kiev Express train (25hrs of Borat lunacy) followed by 3 days boozing. Staying with friends in Kiev, basically kids of the Liberal Ukrainian Elite (Dune would love them! - very different from the UK version), then 2 days to get back home. btw. I have 3 unused tickets to Sweden v France in Kiev if anyone wants them (I realise this is a long shot!). Happy to sell them at face value.

jjsaint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Euros will do the trick. More drinking, spending time with family... plus we've got the Olympics and the Proms down London way.

S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 This is actually a pretty decent close season. Lots of sport to look forward to.

Leslie Charteris Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Golf. Then more golf. Have started the Wiltshire tour early this year with two down already and another one planned for next week. Course was a bit soggy yesterday, though, I'll have to clean my clubs again.
Julian H. Cope Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 I'm off on a European tour with my homies J Boog & Spawnbreezie. Nectar.
dubai_phil Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 primary task - enter as many competitions as possible to win trips to or free drinks in pubs here during the Euros. 8 done so far Summer Arrgghh. You lot have No idea... No football = BAD. Outside temperature mid to high 40's and humidity into Sauna levels. Only place to go in the day time is Mall walking = Worse. So will be hoping some idiots haven't (again) sold the TV rights to the cricket to some obscure Indian company that don't even transmit here. Oh and two weddings (Daughter & future Brother in Law) and two weeks arsing around at the Consulate in Krakow to get all my paperwork sorted for my wedding next year

suewhistle Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Play cricket (Emsworth) always looking for players, so don't be shy... Not sure about cricket - hard balls not being my thing - but on my summer visit I might be in the Coal Hole, Blue Bell, Raglan, Sussex and definitely the Slipper.. I have played cricket before though, one memorable day after a lunchtime in The Cricketers at Westbourne when they were desperate for players for a scratch game. I took a wicket and scored some runs so I presume others were tipsier than I was!
Winnersaint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Giro d'Italia, Tour de France. the latter is the sporting event of any year. Vuelta is in footy season so doesn't count. Hopefully hours in the Chilterns in great weather on my newish CF bike.

saintrich Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Hopefully get down to a few hampshire games. Would have liked to have gone to euros but not an England away (or home for that matter) member.
Sour Mash Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Hopefully get down to a few hampshire games. Would have liked to have gone to euros but not an England away (or home for that matter) member. Didn't have to be for what it's worth. Still easy enough to get over and do the games if you fancy it.
suewhistle Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012  ain't that the truth! I had to take the risk to take you off ignore to quote that, but isn't instinct (or predictability on your part) a great thing. Look, sweetheart, I'd already made the joke, yours doesn't work any more. Funnily enough, I get the impression you don't actually like women. I suggest you **** a water-melon: all the suction, moisture and intelligence you can cope with.

ZebadeeRust Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 I will spend the summer locking myself into sports bags.

We haven't sold out our allocations for any of the group games. Tickets are still available on the UEFA portal, I believe. If not, they will be a piece of p*ss to acquire over there. Flights and hotels have massively dropped in price as finally the backwards, money grabbing Ukrainians have realised that nobody is going as people aren't going to pay £100 a night for a bed in a dorm.
Orange Posted 4 May, 2012 Author Posted 4 May, 2012 Planned to go out to Kiev until my mate backed out, ah well.

Englandfans membership is pretty pointless these days. I've been a member since 1999 and won't be renewing post-Euros.

This Charming Man Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 I'm debating if renewing my membership is worth it. Though knowing my luck, the second I cancel it, we'll go and play Ireland and Scotland away.

GAS Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 For me I try and save more, so will be working saturdays. Cricket and the pub do the job too. Nothing.
Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2012 Posted 5 May, 2012 Cricket, . not Hampshire I hope, you'll end up in the nutbin.
