He's done well so far as Demba Ba did earlier. Be interested to see how they do next season and whether they're top players or just playing above themselves short term. See how many he's got after 40 games. If he and Ba were on scoring form together they'd be unstoppable.

Still don't think they have a chance of Champion's League though. Spurs will come above them, and have a feeling Chelsea might win the CL.

If that happens then spuds will miss out as well. (I will laugh at all my spud mates if that happens)

Looks a bit special. Just scored 2 absolute crackers against Chelsea. The 2nd of which is a good shout for goal of the season.

13 goals in 12 games. Not bad for £10m.

He was pretty good over here already.

Pretty strange that he wasn't on Bayern Munich's radar as they use to buy every above mediocre player in the Bundesliga... :D

Better value then Carroll and Torres (£85 million) for their 13 goals between them.

Seriously?!

It's a great strike, but it's still a one touch long shot. For me the very best goals involve more than one touch or simply a long shot. However good the shot is, be is Crouch, this one or countless others over the years. Every season has some brilliant long shots, but it takes something a bit different to be amongst the best and most memorable goals. Amazing skill, dribbling round a few players, amazing team move and so on.

This one is a brilliant long shot, one of the best goals this season, but people are getting a bit carried away with it. I think the problem is, however good it is, and however unlikely it is a lesser player could do it, it is still possible. Some of Messi's goals I can't imagine another player on the planet being capable of. Scorers of classic great goals, be it Messi, Zidane, Bergkamp, Le Tissier, Maradona and so on, were never one touch goals. The genius is in the subtle touches, the skill, outwitting defenders completely and rounding it off with a decent finish.

Sort of agree but this wasn't just any old long range effort. From that angle, using the outside of his boot against a 'keeper as good as Cech on the half-volley is something very special indeed. In my opinion is was superior to Crouch's.

To be fair, I think Ba has only gone off the boil because he has been playing on the left wing since Cisse came in, so he hasn't been the focal point of the attacks. That said, he smacked one against the bar last night too.
