Anyone know any decent places where I can take the kids fishing and camp, on or near the lake?

 

Ideally would like to be able to have a fire, but know that most places don't allow that.

 

Anywhere within 30 minutes of Southampton

Took the kids to Hollands Wood out near Brockenhurst next to the Balmer Lawn Hotel a few years back....flowing stream/river next to it but don't do fishing so don't know if those who were actually caught anything.

Might be possible down towards St Leonards,you can fish the Dorset Stour and there's a pretty handy camp site near by, don't know about lake fishing though.Whether St Leonards is withinn 30 minutes of Southampton I couldn't say, depends how fast you drive I guess.I used to manage West End-Poole in about 30 minutes though.

 

Might be possible down on the Mountbatten Estate as well,you can fish the lake, must be camp sites round that way as well.

Fishing is available at the nearby Hatchet’s Pond and permits can be bought onsite.
