saints_is_the_south Posted 21 July, 2012 Posted 21 July, 2012 Fantastic signing that is, we'll regret missing out on him very much. +1. Gutted we didn't get him. Bargain of the summer at £2m IMO.
S-Clarke Posted 21 July, 2012 Posted 21 July, 2012 There's obviously a reason we didn't go for him, I don't believe we ''missed'' out as such because if we still held a big interested he would be ours.
Turkish Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 Well looked a class above anything else on MOTD. Think we might have missed out there.
hypochondriac Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 Well looked a class above anything else on MOTD. Think we might have missed out there. Agree with that. Missed out on one there seemingly.
S-Clarke Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 Looked very good. Big, strong and technically sound to say the least. I still think we want better than him though.
Colinjb Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 Looked very good. Big, strong and technically sound to say the least. I still think we want better than him though. On first impressions (and even considering that QPR made Swansea look epic....) 2 million pounds..... we missed out on a player like that who cost only two million pounds? Why the f**k did Vallecano let him go for that little? What's wrong with him really? He looked (in MOTD editted style) to be an utter class apart.

I don't know, there's something funny about it that I can't put my finger on.

Saint Matty 76 Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 Fantastic signing that is, we'll regret missing out on him very much. Sadly right.
Colinjb Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 Arent they skint and didn't have a lot of choice? There's skint and there's stupid. I'm going to credit Vallecano as not being stupid, so what's wrong with him?
Aura Posted 25 August, 2012 Posted 25 August, 2012 Just scored another, think he will be the best buy in the entire league this season
Ex Lion Tamer Posted 25 August, 2012 Posted 25 August, 2012 Not sure he fits the system we are trying to play, we tend to attack on the wings
CB Fry Posted 25 August, 2012 Posted 25 August, 2012 We were about to sign him and got gazumped at the eleventh hour. Just like all the others.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 August, 2012 Posted 26 August, 2012 We were about to sign him and got gazumped at the eleventh hour. Just like all the others. You mean the 5 million monopoly money we were supposed to be offering didn't stand up against Swansea's 1.5 million of the real green folding? More likely he thought now Laudrup there's a name I've heard of even if I haven't got a f*cking clue where Swansea is.
trousers Posted 1 December, 2012 Posted 1 December, 2012 Just watching Match of the Day. Anyone got a time machine?
melmacian_saint Posted 1 December, 2012 Posted 1 December, 2012 Looking at his goals he is really good. But I think again, like with Norwich, it's down to the attacking midfielders, not the marksmen. Shechter is not amazing but the work of Ki, Hernandez (today De Guzman) and Dyer (Routledge has been there too) well supported by Britton is top quality. You can see why Laudrup was such a genius in his playing days and where he was so prolific. Pace, technique, intelligence right in front of the penalty box, that's where the key move in their goals starts... Pablo Hernandez particularly, having followed him since his early days with Cádiz in the Spanish Championship, is a fantastic player. And you can all say about how Puncheon gets MOM twice every 10 games and how he's back, but I still feel he is mostly a "crop-circle" player who cannot make an early decision about what to do with the ball and for 5.3 million pounds I would gladly have left him in the siberia group of squad players and get Hernandez in. But obviously, the left-wing issue is panicky. I still do not understand how 30 million can be spent and still leave certain positions so poorly covered.
benjii Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 Michu's clearly a decent player but he's scoring lots of goals because Swansea are generally a better team than we are. We have hardly been short on goals - we've scored more than half the teams in the league have. Clearly the problem has been GK, centre back and left back in terms of personnel. We have also got our midfield shape wrong at times and are too gung-ho. With those failings I'm not sure having Michu around would have made much difference.
Turkish Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 I wonder if his agent wanted s few quid more than we were willing to pay.....
Turkish Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 There's skint and there's stupid. I'm going to credit Vallecano as not being stupid, so what's wrong with him? Still not much evidence of anything being wrong with him, hey Colin.

With over £10m worth of new signings on the bench week in, week out, I would have to agree with you.
Olallana Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 Switch Ramirez for Michu......not a chance, thank you very much.
S-Clarke Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 Switch Ramirez for Michu......not a chance, thank you very much. 2 completely different players, but for £2m Mitchu is a sound investment for Swansea. Powerful player through the middle, which is what I sometimes think we lack.
Whitey Grandad Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 Switch Ramirez for Michu......not a chance, thank you very much. Can we have both please, Bob?
Window Cleaner Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 Powerful player through the middle, which is what I sometimes think we lack. Exactly, what a powerhouse like Bafetimbi Gomis couldn't do for us isn't worth knowing. I still (and no doubt many will get on my case over this) think Lambert is vastly overated and not really sharp enough for the EPL. A bit more up front through the middle yesterday would have got us at least a point, if we'd had Suarez we'd have won.
david in sweden Posted 2 December, 2012 Posted 2 December, 2012 Not all Swedish players are playing in Sweden. It wasn't clarified, just Swedish players. ..that shouldn't take too long, there aren't many talents to choose from at present....except for the (Swedish) lad that Man.City loaned to Feyenoord. No I'm not going to revive THAT thread.
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 3 December, 2012 Posted 3 December, 2012 I was looking forward to seeing Michu when we played Swansea, was dissapointed in what I saw, played like a lazy Berbatov but with half the skill, he spent more energy with his exasperated arm waving at his team mates. Spoke to a Swansea fan on the out of the stadium he said Michu had been blinding at the start of the season but had really dropped off after being moved into a more forward position. I promptly transferred Michu out of my fanstasy team and he's been banging in the goals ever since. Thought Ki was the better player when we played Swansea. Though I'd take their CB too.
St_Tel49 Posted 3 December, 2012 Posted 3 December, 2012 F/ck reading all the drivel on the HCDAJUFU thread. I want to see all the rumours without having to sift through b/llocks. To be fair most threads degenerate into b\llocks because of slanging matches between the usual suspects. Personally I would like the mods to create some sort of function that automatically closes a thread when the post count on it from anyone poster on exceeds 5.
