...and results went as they were, then we would have been promoted the week before as West Ham couldn't catch us and been 2 points ahead of Reading, effectively needing just a point at Boro to secure the title. We would then have thrown it away with a 2-1 defeat despite having been leading after the first minute. Just think what a different mood we would have had on Saturday then!

 

I know things *might* have panned out differently and Reading may have had more of a go at a very strong Birmingham side, but just goes to show it's not just how the table ends up but they journey you took to get there that ends up defining your season.

I think the fixtures ended up being the reason for the fantastic atmosphere and reaction at SMS, it wouldn't have been the same if that game was the penultimate one.
