Huffton Posted 30 April, 2012 Share Posted 30 April, 2012 Does this mean we will get a proper reserve team in a proper reserve league now we are back?
VectisSaint Posted 30 April, 2012 Share Posted 30 April, 2012 Not until it is restructured in 2013/4 season. There are plans to reorganise it on u21 basis (with latitude to play over age players) and to play games after the main game at the weekend. The current Prem Reserve league is not even supported by all of the PL teams (including Spuds and Barcodes).
Matthew Le God Posted 30 April, 2012 Share Posted 30 April, 2012 The makeup of the reserves/under 21 leagues hasn't been confirmed yet. In any case Saints if they wanted could have been in a reserve league these past few years, but choose not to.

Interesting. That would tie in with Corteses comments about getting people to stay at the stadium after the final whistle. Could be fun, beers, main match, more beers, reserve game etc etc. Would be good for the kids, getting them to play competetively in front of a decent crowd as well. I was under the impression that was of our own choosing due to the lack of quality opposition after being booted out of the premier reserve league

The bit I have a problem with though is how it would work with midweek matches. I think this is the sort of stuff they are trying to thrash out. I think this was on the Beeb a couple of weeks ago.
