Earlier in the season West Ham told Rob Green that they won't be offering a new contract until they knew which division they would be playing in.

Earlier today Rob Green told West Ham that no matter what division they will be playing in he doesn't want to play for them.

He is now available on a free come the 1st June. ;)

I think people will be disappointed if they expect a new No1 next season. Not only is Davis capable IMO but Adkins is big on his team ethic and his experienced players play a MASSIVE role of that. Davis is huge in this area and to replace him would be foolish on many levels. A new younger back up with the plan to phase Davis out over a period of time maybe...but a goalkeeper expecting to be starting...no chance.

Spot on. I'd expect to see Bart go, but he will be replaced by a young goal keeper with the potential to replace Davis long-term. That's how i see it anyway.

One of the most overrated keepers of recent times. If you look at various football stat sites, he was regularly the premiership keeper with the largest amount of fumbles.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Kelvin to bits, but I always find myself being on the verge of sh1tt1ing myself every time a cross comes in, or the ball gets passed back to him for a hoof upfield. God knows what I'd be like with Green between the sticks.

the fella from chelsea.....cutounis or something...trouble is, he will want to be number 1

He'd only be a loan here, and Chelsea wouldn't want him to sit on the bench. He made a total clanger last night though to be fair, but he's proven to be a very good keeper for Atheltic Madrid.

I'm sure Chelsea see him as the long-term replacement for Cech.

Isn't it ironic? Like raaiiiinnnn ...

sorry ...

A few years ago West Ham wanted Davis as backup to Green .... now we don't want Green as backup to Davis.

Hmm. Yeah, Joe Lewis mentioned above - definitely want a young keeper to learn from Kelvin with a view to taking over in a couple of years. Not an ageing rocker who is into the second half of his career.

Fielding from Derby
one of the worst keepers I saw this season, can't kick a ball to save his life. If you went to the England U21 game at SMS you'd surely never want to see him in a Saints shirt ever. Looked terrible. We can do much much better IMO.

Might not be a popular call but I think we need a Neimi to Davis's Paul Jones. We have a good keeper. Maybe we need a better one.
I'm a huge fan of Davis but at some point we'll need to look for another keeper. No point us signing a `number 2' other than to keep a lid on wages. If the funds are there lets get a Premiership keeper. If Davis does his stuff he keeps his shirt, if he doesn't then we make the change. Let's give ourself a choice. The Dutch keeper we looked at in January he may be on the cards.
