Yes, though you can't buy it until 14th July. "It's white" but is not the reverse of the home, according to Amanda Rushforth, who we're expecting to be modelling it in some promo pictures somewhere.

Actually I've had two crappy nights of sleep, but that's because I'm ill, nothing to do with the kit. Also, if I already think I know what it looks like, what's there to get excited about ? It IS just a football kit after all, and I'll get it eventually anyway as I collect them.

My "get out clause" is that I've been told what I've seen is the new kit by someone with solid credentials and who has been ITK previously, and it ties in with what the model they booked for the promo pictures described it as. Other than that, I don't know any more than anyone else. Seems unlikely that they'd create mock-ups AND then go to the trouble of getting some bimmer to blab a little bit about it on twitter just to surprise people on the launch day... though as I'm still a tiny bit hopeful it won't be the thing I've seen I could happily accommodate being misled if we end up with a better kit.

Looks bloody good to me on that video, though I cant tell how it looks from the stands. Could do with a bit of collar and cuff modernisation, though.

The club did release a limited edition replica of that shirt, still wear it from time to time.

I too liked the red/white quarters from that match v Brighton .

 

Only problem is that after one wash it became red and pink quarters.

What the hell did you do!? Mine is over a decade old and still fine, never washed it above 40 C though.

I fully expect a new thread or 6 to spring up around 6pm today with a load of people who haven't been bothered enough about what the new kit looks like so far to look in this thread all going mental about how terrible it is and doesn't look like Saints, etc. This will then get locked as a duplicate (like last year) and no-one who's already been on here will get to actually discuss it with hindsight.

 

That mildly irked me last year...

 

At least you won't have me posting updates from the Liebherr Cup at St Mary's about the training kit and the shorts and socks the players are warming up in, this season. :D

 

Hold on a minute .... I've read every bl00dy post on this godforsaken thread but haven't commented yet because I don't actually know anything yet. At 6 pm, I will know something and might want to comment. In view of this, could I please have your permission to do so in advance?

Just concerned that when "a new thread or 6 to spring up around 6pm today" I might get lumped in with that "load of people who haven't been bothered enough about what the new kit looks like so far to look in this thread all going mental about how terrible it is and doesn't look like Saints, etc"... I'd hate to be one of those arseh0les ;)

I wonder whether the collar trim will be red or white? If its red I will probably throw my season ticket at Cortese at the ML Trophy.

 

Collar is (believed to be) exactly the same as the Linfield kit above.

 

Let me know if you're going to chuck it, that's probably about the only way they could get me to go to that for £25.

I'm not sure most companies have the kind of audience that would buy uniform replicas for their performances. Maybe Rocky Horror, but they've not really got the supply locked down to maximise their profits from that.

Maybe a new thread on the 2013-2014 shirt perhaps.

 

Assuming it is the shirt we're expecting, I'll talk about the shorts and socks, the overall effect, whether it's very "Saintsy" and the away kit which we know nothing about, which is also unveiled tonight. Oh, and all the other stuff I come on here for (i.e. correcting people who say "Premiership"). We have no clue about 2013/14, don't even know if we're renewing Umbro yet.

 

I have a horrible feeling about those "barber's pole" Forest away socks...

I think it will be a brave move to have a white away shirt as expected - I have tons of white umbro shirts - loads of england and the sash. I'm sure many are the same - planning on getting the home kit if as expected.

Yeah, but they're pretty standard across all Umbro clubs so it's no surprise, I could probably find those on the Forest/Blackburn site now. There's only us, Forest, Blackburn (and Huddersfield's teamwear deal) left of the Umbro clubs - that I can remember apart from Man City who have bespoke stuff anyway.

 

Any others ? Rangers, not sure their classic 1972 rework is likely to lend itself to sharing keepers' shirts with others. There are international sides too, but Sweden use old GK templates - Norway's narrow shadow stripes might be it though... I'm off Googling. :rolleyes:

Yup, there we go, Blackburn's 2013 GK shirt is the same as the Norway one (though not the one they wore against England recently):

No idea what it is, but it's the same as I had last month and there was no kit launch then. It's not a cold though.
