One thing that occurred to me yesterday, my partner asked me if I wanted new Saints shirt for fathers day (In less than 2 weeks) she was unaware that they weren't on sale yet....let alone not even unveiled. It got me thinking that I really do think saints have missed a bit of a trick not getting them on sale before fathers day as I would be I'm not the only father who may have got one

If there's not one out by my wedding anniversary I'm going to have to buy my own... ;)

They JUST got the sash kit out in time for my wedding day in 2010 (the wife got a shirt with her new surname on it and wore it over her wedding dress for a bit, lol), but last year I had to have an IOU, due to their faffing.

I quite like that 1982 Nike Sunderland shirt, wouldn't be surprised if our away looked quite like it. Afaik at the moment, the model is the only person to comment about the away kit, "white with some details", but I think I prefer that to the red version.

Just a gut feeling here, but gonna go out on a limb and say we're going to have a third kit too

Does seem daft that they don't try to go for dates like that.

If our home kit is red and white and our away kit white and red I think there's more than a slight chance of this.....

Wasnt the yellow away kit going to be our 3rd kit?

Would make sense, but Umbro haven't made 3rd kits for as long as they've been doing 1 year kits, the Prem sides with 3rd kits previously have all used a previous season's shirt (eg Man City with their white sash 3rd/Euro this season, the WBA 3rd a couple of years ago). Neither Sunderland nor Man City had a new 3rd kit made for last season and we're currently flogging the current yellow at 50% off.

I suggested that purely based on my guessing the away would be white and as we didn't usually reduce kit price. We have now reduced the kit price, though we also "know" the away kit is white.

From what is described on here the "white" in the homeshirt as pinstripes is not likely to be too prominent to cause a clash.

This whole "red with pinstripes" thing; is there any chance that what has been seen so far is just a training top, and the actual shirt is being kept well under wraps?

Seems like a lot of the speculation has come from this female model, who didn't really seem to have much of a clue what she was looking at apart from the basic design. And I'd have thought that any model who has seen the kit would have to sign an NDA if the club were keeping the design under wraps. And in any case, why are they using a female to model a new kit? Very odd.

Just putting it out there.

She would have to sign a NDA, her Twitter profile says "A PR Nightmare...", so maybe not the best choice for keeping a secret!

Isn't "very odd" at all, there are numerous examples of clubs using female models when launching a new kit.

I was thinking that but her comment about "keep checking marketing material" confused me until I saw the Lille Kit Launch and realised that they had females modelling the kit in different surroundings and this may be what she was doing for our launch? As you can see on the link below, there is "marketing material" such as a video and a wallpaper so who knows?

Yes, but when have we ever done it? Not once under this regime, and it doesn't seem to be Cortese's style.

Oh right. I can't recall our OS ever using female models before. And certainly not to launch the kit. Funnily enough its always been a selection of players chosen. Not saying they wouldn't use a female model; they may have a new range of ladies wear.

In any case, I still think its possible she didn't know what she was actually modelling.

Yep, could be that of course. We'll see soon enough, I guess.

He has only been in charge of the club for two kit launches. How can you say it "doesn't seem Cortese's style"? In any case, maybe these photo's aren't for the main launch, maybe they are the photos on the club's online shop for a ladies fitted cut version of the kit.

If we're wearing either red shirts or white shirts against a team in red and white shirts (and both Sunderland and Stoke will be) there will be a clash.

What she said confirmed what we'd already said on here, with the exception of saying the away kit is white, which I'd already guessed based on the design of the home kit only.

It is possible it's a training kit, but it would mean ignoring the same information coming from at least 2 different sources that I'm aware of.

The fact it looks like a training kit is part of the problem for me, I already have a load of plain red Saints shirts from the times we had red training kit. I'll get it no matter what though.

The fact we haven't done it before makes it a good marketing idea for a start. No idea where you get "isn't Cortese's style" from.

Pretty much every South American kit launch uses female models as well.

Why the hell would you do that? What if it was florescent blue with orange stripes and pink lapels? Fuc.king odd attitude if you ask me, but then i don't buy shirts anyway and find grown me wearing replica shirts a bit odd.

Because I have something resembling a collection of Saints shirts. Even the ugly ones. If it's crappy I generally don't buy it until they reduce it, but I'll get it eventually.

I also only wear my replica shirts to Saints matches or occasionally to 5-a-side or football training, seems perfectly reasonable to me. What I don't get is blokes who treat football as some kind of chav fashion show.

After reading 10 pages of this, I have decided to wait until the kit comes out to see what it looks like.

It looks like Itchen_Dan's mock up, more or less.

Confirmed!!!!

If these were close to the new kits then we would need a third kit, you could not wear either of those at Sunderland,Stoke possibly Arsenal so are we getting a yellow , blue or black third kit?

THAT, my friends, is bang on.

Except that it is, according to a number of posters above, the reverse of this ie red with white pinstripes.

Or, as implied above, the away kit.

I'm going to point out that the model said she was photographed in both home and away, described the red quite close to what we'd said but didn't recall the detail of the white - which implies it wasn't just the reverse, as that would have been pretty obvious.

Also, no mention of a third kit, and we know Umbro haven't made three kits for anyone in England for over 5 years, since they started the Tailored By range in fact. That's all confused by the sudden 50% off sale in the club shops, implying that this year's yellow won't be used again (or why would they discount it when they've barely bothered before?).

I much prefer the white one, but there's nothing to say that's even close to the design.

Also worth noting that Stoke have released both their new kits and white probably won't clash with the shirt (but they wear white shorts and socks too), and their away is red and blue stripes!

Sunderland have jumped to adidas so are probably trying to find something that doesn't look the same as Stoke...

I would agree with that, although I think the away shirt will be all white with some red features and not pinstripes too.

The home kit is spot on from what ITK'ers have said on here though.

Did The9 not actually state that it had 7 stripes with one directly elow the point of the view? This would make the stripes thinner, and in my view, making the kit less appealing on the eye. The stripes on the Sweden shirt are noticeably thinner than on Itchen Dan's mock up.

Guess the 3rd would be yellow with black stripes or black with yellow stripes. Any chance of a mock up of that combo?

All for that kit combination looks good, sets us apart from sunderland and stoke, still a saints-esque kit and also avoids the cringe worthy 'come on you reds' when we were most definitely the whites with the sash.

The red shirt has 7 pairs of twinned up stripes, which is what the Sweden shirt has. The middle one is in line with the centre of the shirt.

I'm still not 100% convinced it's not one grey and one white in the pair. They do look like one stripe from a distance, but yes, narrower than the ones above.

I don't think there is a third kit. Agreed re: "reds", though why we couldn't just sing "Saints" God knows.

The new #saintsfc kit is apparently the same as Sweden's but with red instead of yellow and white instead of blue. If true, it's a bit 'meh'

After my last effort I have been approached by Pompey to design their next year kit as they feel I will be cheaper.
