Matt Jarvis

Am I the only one not massively excited by this rumour? Can see there being a fair bit of interest from the likes of Villa, Everton, SUnderland etc, and consequently his price will offer very little value indeed.

I think he's just the type of player we need to add to our squad but, as you say, depends if he offers much value for money as many teams will be interested.

He's got one England cap and suddenly he's an amazing player. Not so. He's good I admit but I fear people are getting carried away.

don't think he is amazing...just a very realistic very decent player we could get in a position that really needs fixing

I have to admit, I've never actually seen him put in a performance that's made me sit up and take notice - but I'd love to be proved completely wrong.

To be fair, we've not had a great deal of opportunity to watch him live.

Wolves fans hold him in high regard though, and he's proven in the premier league. Exactly the sort of player that fits our signings remit IMO.

Just got back from Costa after having a cuppa with my Wolves oppo.

Jarvis has told WWFC he wants to leave and he would prefer to move back south as his Doris doesn't like it up north but at this moment it time Stoke are in the box seat as they've had talks with his agent and they are seen as a club less likely to be struggling next season, plus they'll likely pay more.

It may come down to money v lifestyle.

If he wants to move Further north...!

Might come down to location, and I'm pretty sure we'd match anything stoke would pay.

Exactly. Money (Stoke) v location & lifestyle (Us).

Also, considering where he lives now, a move to Stoke wouldn't mean he has to move house. Interesting though that his Doris is "one of your lot" as it was put to me today.

Stoke pay very well BTW.

Cheers for the info though - appreciate the snippets.

I guess from how you're talking that our interest is genuine and not made up?

Me neither but then I've not seen a huge amount of his play. Seems to be an out and out winger and not sure we play that way. From the equally small amount I've seen of Phillips he seems to be a more flexible type of player.

I past this onto my colleague who knows Matt, and apparently Stoke were mentioned a lot when he was at Gillingham. My colleague also thinks current family location will play a part in what happens, which is good for us

From the comments on this thread I expected the Wolves fans to be utter morons, but a fair amount make reasonable points. They certainly aren't all ignorant of our position.

Yeah there's something seriously wrong with that Wolves forum! How come they ain't calling each other mongtards and stinging each other with sarcastic abuses all the time?

There's even this one bit where one guy says something, another disagrees with it, the first guy comes back and says a bit more and then the second guy - check this - says sorry and accepts he was wrong! I don't think I've ever seen that on here! I wonder if it's some kind of elaborate joke forum?

Cant say the Wolves fans were all OTT, not as bad as some we have seen... not sure about Jarvis though. Think we will focus on younger players that Nige and the team believe can be improved, so maybe a good option... budget will dictate a few things as well, not sure we will see the kind of spending some are hoping for...

Only if we can achieve same results with Alps otherwise we will be fine Lol

Although to be honest he is not alone,I can take Alps, he's a bit of a downer at times but he seems to be relatively well educated, you can usually fault what he says but not with the presentation. There are worse on this forum than Alps.

Yeah but.... Time to break out our 'we will walk the championship' posts from 2006/7? I'm sure there were several. (Wolves will struggle)

Wolves fans showing the kind of billy big b*llocks attitude that will condemn them to a longish stay in the Championship.

An attitude far above their station imo - hope they get a rude awakening next season and I think they will when all their best players leave their 'massive' club.

  • 2 weeks later...

what incredibly arrogant fans, thinking they're a bigger club than us and banging on about potential attendances. Don't they realise we're bigger than Everton and could potentially fill a 50,000 stadium.......

Can you tell them to hurry and do the deal please mate. The season has been finished over two weeks and we've not signed anyone yet. They'll be the 2012/13 version of an "ambition where's the evidence?" thread up here soon.

That's pretty typical of the dingles. They think they are on a par with Everton & Newcastle. They make the skates look bright.

Thank fu ck I work with mainly Baggies.

I hate wolves fans few live round here in winchester, they claim to be this BIG club, makes me laugh were actually a better supported club, as mentioned we have had better attendance's then them for some games in league one and championship.

Matt Jarvis is originally from the Guildford area and I heard yesterday that he has bought or built a house in the Cobham area, just off the A3. Apparently he is definitely moving but his agent is playing it very coy about who he is going to.
