They get a lot right, they get some wrong.. but whoever they are they're certainly worth paying attention to when it comes to transfers.

Either way, would be a good signing

Are we going to get a new thread every time an annonymous person "tweets" a rumour on twitter? It's going to be a long old summer.

Yep all summer

FourthOfficial... The guy that said we were definitely signing Nicky Maynard. And then when we signed Fox he tried to act as if he knew it was going to happen. Lame.

Can we just have a sticky "Transfer Rumours" thread for stuff like this? Would save having 10 threads every day for the next 3 months about players linked with us by random twitter accounts, retards on 606 and "some bloke on the Burnley forum who reckons..."

Would be a great signing though.

Geeze - it's gonna be a long, long summer. This is sooooo bad I might even try and get myself banned from here for a few months......

If I recall he "broke" the news that we had made a double bid to a club which turned out to be Jay Rod and Fox? But I agree with the sentiment - as someone said the other day "a broken watch is correct twice a day" so pinch of salt required.

The sort of player that would add to our team and improve us. Young, english, a decent age where he can carry on improving too, he's exactly the sort of player I'd expect us to be looking at.

I've just a voice message with my oppo at Wolves asking about Jarvis. I'll report back when he replies.

A work colleague lives next door to Matts mum and has known him since he was 3. I asked last week if he'd heard anything and he said Matt was bound to move from Wolves, but hadn't heard of any link with us. I will ask him again tomorrow if he's heard any more.

He would be a great signing, however good young English players always come at a premium and I can see Liverpool or someone like that coming in for him.

Posted
It would appear we have made enquiries regarding his availability but no more than that.

You would think he'd definitely be available if Wolves like it or not.

Posted
He is. He's made it clear he wants away. According to my oppo we always do things "properly" hence the enquiry 1st.

if these are the sort of players we are targeting then good stuff..

beats signing the mikael nilsson and jacobson

Not a patch on Jelle Van Damme.

Reading that Wolves forum is exactly why I hate the premier league. They are assuming an immediate return to the prem, they don't know any facts about anything below the prem and already have us relegated.

"Jarvis will not be going to a small time club like Southampton."

"Southampton are not a bigger club than Wolves. Yes they are in the premiership next season but if Jarvis wants to be back in the premiership for his England ambitions I don't see how going to Southampton is going to achieve this. "

"Can't see Southampton spending that sort of money, got Stoke all over it imo."

This one, I liked:

"It's a step up obviously as we are now a championship club. They are a premiership club. It that's not a step up I don't know why is!"

Mmm Wolves.

I remember the first game I ever experienced with Saints outside the top division - a boring 0-0 draw at home to a typical championnship team - Wolves - in a game that seemed to go on forever, with Fuller (all £90,000 of unfit crap) and Kenwyne posturing up front.

How times have changed - for the better.

Well yeah, both of them have been Prem players for the last 4 years.

Jarvis is one of the more realistic rumours, I think.

should and possibly would have signed him from Gillingham if we had had two pennies to rub together at the time. Very one footed, but luckily for him its his left. Had a mixed season for Wolves, but I just love wingers that want to get to the byeline as he does. I wonder if the England flirtations might mean his sights are set higher than us. Villa, Everton, Sunderland, Fulham, WBA and others would all be interested I would imagine. Can we compete with them this summer? Everton pay a bloody fortune in wages...

The ignorance and arrogance on that Wolves forum is astounding.

They know nothing about us, our owners, our players etc. apart from snippets they might've read in the Sun/Star but assume we've just 'fluked' our way to the Premier League, and don't have a good squad.

They also assume that Wolves is definitely a bigger club than Saints, whereas in reality the two clubs are equal on size, and fan base. Averaging 27,000 in the Prem for the last 2/3 seasons where we've averaged 24,000 for the last 2 seasons in League 1/Championship.

Everton are the only team out of that lot who you'd say were definitely a better bet than Saints. The rest are just as likely to end up fighting relegation one day as we are.

If i was Jarvis id leave asap..... The brummy accent is annoying as ****

Wolves is in the black country, brummie accent is different. Black country is def an aquired taste.

Astounded at their arrogance, they should know we’re “Considerably Richer than yyyyyyoooooouuuuuu”

In all honesty though, I think they need to sort out their managerial situation if they’re to hold on to players like Jarvis, from the outside sacking Mick Mccarthy & replacing him with Terry Connor is the worst footballing decision I can think of this season.

They’ll struggle in the Championship next season as they’ll likely lose Jarvis & Fletcher and players like O’Hara, Doyle, Kightly, Henry & Johnson will attract attention & without an influential manager I can seem them wanting to jump ship

Am I the only one not massively excited by this rumour? Can see there being a fair bit of interest from the likes of Villa, Everton, SUnderland etc, and consequently his price will offer very little value indeed.

Posted

Wolves fans showing the kind of billy big b*llocks attitude that will condemn them to a longish stay in the Championship.

An attitude far above their station imo - hope they get a rude awakening next season and I think they will when all their best players leave their 'massive' club.
