Which saints will have made their national team within the next year?

Always easier to get into a national team when you're playing in the top flight, so who do you think will be called up by this time next year, first cap or adding to their tally. Always seem to be a few new names after a tournament too.

Tadanari Lee will probably have raised his chances to get more caps once he's fit and I think Lallana will get a chance too.

I also reckon that Kelvin will stand a chance of a call up if he plays well, probably just as a sub, but there's always a need for reliable experienced English keepers.

Don't think Cork will get a look in, but maybe in the future, same for Morgan. I think Lambert and Sharp would have to do amazing things to get considered.

Agree you would hope Fox stands a chance.

Morgan for me, I think will be our stand out performer next year and that could easily get him recognised. The French FA have had him on their radar for a long time.

Lee obviously has a good chance if he plays regularly which I think he will.

Jos might be a good shout, as solid Prem displays will put him in the spotlight.

Lallana, unfortunately I think is unlikely to get a call. I hope I'm wrong as he could be sensational, but my gut for some reason tells me its not going to happen.

Ah yes and whomever our new RM will be, is going to be an international.

Barring Lee and any post-Euro acquisition, none will.

Fox, the token sweaty, might get a look in as emergency cover if there's an injury in the squad or someone's been done for a drunken hit and run. But that's as good as its going to get.

I'd be surprised if Lallana or Lambert ever get a call-up while with us or anyone else.

Hell even CMS got a call up for Scotland You'd think Fox might been in with a chance. The question is will he be good enough to stop Arnbjørn Hansen the Faroe islands top scorer?

I'd expect Fox to get a callup for the Scots if he plays regular for us.

Lee, obviously.

Doubt Lambert will, unless he eclipses the impact Graham and Holt have had. They've scored 14/15 goals and haven't got a look in so far.

I'd expect Morgan to get national team recognition after taking the **** in the premier league. I'd say he's probably the most likely one to go on and get international honors.

I don't think Lambert and Lallana will be considered big enough Charlies to play for England. Maybe if they move to Chelsea for £70k a week, sit on the bench, punch a team mate in a drunken bar fight, **** their team mates girlfriends and some prostitutes and shout racists abuse at some Asian exchange students they might get a look in.

Fox and Lee are probably the most likely as their NTs aren't that good. Jos and Fonte I don't think are good enough to get into theirs but with a stormer of a season they could get a call up for a friendly.

If we were talking about right now, I'd agree about a lot of these players standing no chance. But don't forget that after the summer, we will be looking at a new manager trying to build a team that will be ready for a tournament in two years. There are bound to be a few friendlies where a few fringe possibilities are tried out and a few experiments are made, possibly a few of the old guard will be sidelined for a while. I can see Lallana getting a chance over the course of a year if he plays well. I don't think Lambert will be seen as one for the future, but Kelvin could be a decent shout. I don't think Sharp's stock is high enough for anyone to consider him yet. I think it will take longer than that for Cork and Morgan to get on the radar too.

Didn't the French FA try to convince Morgan to change clubs when we got relegated to League One, or did I imagine that?

Nope, they even gave him an ultimatum, went back on it when he was really playing well but it probably cost them their Euro2010

U21 place and Olympic qualification. Then again the French are like that, they equate our League 1 to their National which is sort of semi-pro Blue Square standard. They just can't get their heads round the fact that apart from PSG,Lille,Lyon and Montpellier most of their Logue 1 sides would get their arse kicked week in week out in the NPC, including that heap of shîte down in Marseille.

Last Saturday Lyon really struggled to see off a semi-pro side in the French Cup final.Rabid taxation and social charges means that they just can't keep hold of their better players and most sides are full of second rate africans.Still there's always public money for football in France and you can see your favourites for a few quid if you don't mind standing with the rabble.
