If in the Prem we don`t get four or five good results in the first ten games Cortese and St Marcus Family will swing the axe and bring in a "Big Name" Please God do not do it even if we are relegated give him a season or you may regret it.

If we don't get off to a flying start everyone knows the mongs will start getting on his back and there will be a few "Nige isn't up to it" threads on here.

Personally I think we should sack him now and then get the big name in - not after Nige has lost the first 4 or 5 games of the new season.

It's possible, but we can't waste time worrying about it.

 

Cortese has done it before, and it worked. That's why the history books now say stuff like "Cortese appointed Nigel Adkins who took over th club in 18th place in league one and led them to two promotions" rather than "Cortese sacked the manager who reinvigorated the team and won a trophy and the club spiralled into chaos". Pardew got binned, big call, but the right call in the end.

 

Cortese might do it again, and it might work again. Little point worrying about it because whoever he replaces him with will get the 95% backing of the fanbase anyway.

 

As it stands I don't think it is on the chairman's mind, and I think Nigel will do enough to establish us as a low-mid level Prem team next season. So nowt to worry about.

It won't just be Nigel. There will be the "Lambert and Sharp haven't scored ten goals each yet time to replace them with Bent and Torres" threads or the "When are we going to replace Kelvin he let in three goals against Man citry he is usless" threads as well.
