Squad off to Vegas?

In the iplayer video of celebration's in the dressing room the team started to sing we're all going to vegas. Is Cortese taking them all on a celebration trip and didn't they do this last season also?

Bl**dy well earned it if so! :D

It could be, or could be in relation to Fat Sam saying that he was going to be in Vegas on Play-Off Final day and had no intention of cancelling (ie. he expected to go up automatically)...

Wasn't it Wigan? We're all going to Wigan was what it sounded like to me.

The fun you could have in Vegas on a professional footballers wage...

Chucking $1000 chips around, a load of brasses on the go, VIP tables, all the booze you can drink and all the gear you can sniff. No better way to celebrate.

What he said

Fat Sam is not going to Vegas.....

He is still going on the River Boat disco shuffle on the Thames.. with the team and the fans to celebrate their automatic promotion..

Maybe they could sell all their tickets to tourists at half price..;)

They had the river boat thingy on Sunday, went on the forum to view all the photo's..

Put it this way I saw more smiles at a funeral. :-)

It was Lagos, NA met a Nigerian Prince on the internet who is going to turn their promotion bonus into millions and put on a guard of honour in Lagos when they come to collect it.

I miss all those emails promising me riches beyond my wildest dreams with wonderful Pigeon English grammar and spelling mistakes and good solid made up names.

I expect Cortese half jokingly told them they could have another trip back there if they got promoted this season too :D

I heard he later explained he meant he'd take them all on a coach trip to see Johnny Vegas at the Hammersmith Apollo.

I hope he sussed that one.

This "invitation" sounds like a variation of the notorius Nigeria letter.

They claim to have a fortune that they will share with you, but when/if you turn up to collect it.. you are kidnapped and held to ransom .

A polite NO is in order Nigel !.

I went to Vegas in 1992 and planned 3 days there, left after one day. See one casino and you've seen them all.

Also went there at the formation of North American Saints, great company crap venue.

What were you expecting? Some kind of cultural experience of a lifetime? It's Vegas! It is what it is.

I was there for three nights in the early eighties. We had a spare day at the end of the exhibition so two of us hired a car and drove to the Grand Canyon and back in a day. I'd have liked to have gone to the painted desert but didn't have enough time.

Rumour at the awards dinner tonight is that Cortese has cancelled the trip because it got into the public domain - but of course the person who told me could be telling porkies. He has Punch at Forte at his table ATM,

Cancelled. Why?

Maybe it got into the public domain.

Nonsense. What is the thought process behind cancelling something you were going to do just because it got into the public domain? Same applies to what some people have said about transfers and Cortese, yes they would prefer transfers not to "go public", but why does that mean you cancel them completely? Makes little sense.

In any case, scenes after the Coventry game in the changing room on the BBC of the players all chanting "we're all going to Vegas" was quite a big clue they were going to Vegas, along with players Tweeting about it!

Exactly. Clearly a stupid rumour amongst the fans or at best a p**s take by whichever player told them that.

Nobody said it makes sense - I was merely repeating what some of the players were saying. Still, you clearly seem to know much more than them about the whole thing - so we can drop the subject.

I know absolutly nothing about what is going on.

However, anybody who has ever tried to organise a works "do", will tell you that sometimes these things just don't happen because you can't get gaps in everybodies diarys. Either that or you leave several people behind which leads to the rumours of "Player X is leaving the club because he did'nt go to Vagas" wheras he had been to see the specialist to sort his toe out for next season.

Sounds to me like you are just saying what you "want" to be true. Were you there? Did you speak to any of the players? Some of them were definitely putting over negative vibes about the possibility of this trip going ahead - FACT, not rumour amongst fans. Why would the players want to "take the p**s" about it? Maybe they are just feeling pessimistic about it because they haven't heard anything about it since the last game. Who knows.

Have you considered that maybe it was never actually planned, but that the players were goading NC into taking them to Vegas again.

Spoke to most of the squad last night and asked them all about Vegas. Almost everyone said they had no idea whether it was going ahead now. Players seemed in the dark. Definitely not booked yet that's for sure. Have to say it was a top top night and all the players were a credit to SFC.
