Dig Dig Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Did't think it warranted a thread of it's own...but Chappers off ?? Or am I just jumping to conclusions Richard chaplow @Rchap04 Things should never be taken for granted! Live everyday like your last!
Saint Garrett Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Mackie is involved with Hoillet going to QPR. He'll be going to Blackburn,
pingwing Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Ridiculous move for him if true, more than good enough for the Premier League, get in their Nigel! Wouldn't be surprised if QPR are paying him a top earner at the club wage, opposed to a within a budget wage everyone else would have been offering (his agent is his dad who I think is similar to Chamberlain's but pushier). Lots of potential but wouldn't be worth breaking the budget for a player who isn't at that level yet just to have him ahead of the competition.

You realise I meant Mackie to Blackburn rather than Hoillett to QPR right?
pingwing Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 You realise I meant Mackie to Blackburn rather than Hoillett to QPR right? Ah sorry got confused, stand by the Hoillett view but Mackie could be an interesting one at 3.5m.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Might stick a few quid on Blackburn bouncing back up this season
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Might stick a few quid on Blackburn bouncing back up this season I'd do the same, if they didn't have Kean as manager, who is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Flyer Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 So, does this make Jamie Mackie surplus to requirements now perhaps? No, Tony Fernandes has already come out and said hes going nowhere. Blackburn offered to double his wages too. You can have SWP though!
corsacar saint Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Flyer a good mate of mine is a massive Rangers fan and he is delighted with Hoillet,I have to say I agree with him and fancy you for a top half finish.
Pat from Poole Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 I think his father played in the 1990 World Cup, and was sent of against the Argies for near GBH and decapitation of Claudio Caniggia!! One of my favourite ever World Cup moments. Never fails to make me laugh.

Seems to prefer a move to Serie A.

itchen_dan Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Interesting little observation. Saints scouts are attending the Peterborough v Norwich friendly today. Wonder who they're looking at?
SuperSAINT Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Interesting little observation. Saints scouts are attending the Peterborough v Norwich friendly today. Wonder who they're looking at? Snodgrass?
Saint Garrett Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 I'm sure we watch plenty of games all the time and nothing comes of it, I wouldn't get your hopes up!
VectisSaint Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 So does anyone know much about Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik? According to the Sun we are monitoring the Cameron [sic] defender.
Saint Garrett Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Sounds like Biyik favours a move to AC Milan (why wouldnt he?). Sounds like a bit of a CB rock, strong, quite young but I guess he must have good feet or Adkins wouldn't be interested I doubt.
itchen_dan Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 So does anyone know much about Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik? According to the Sun we are monitoring the Cameron [sic] defender. It first got rumoured in French press yesterday morning but he's apparently a big, strong, fast, agile CB so could be ideal for us. Only 22 as well. However, Spurs are rumoured to be looking at him and he prefers a move to Serie A after being linked with AC Milan so very unlikely I think but who knows?
beavis17 Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Wigan target Ivan Ramis has received an interesting offer from another PL club apparently. Haven't we been linked to him somewhere?

S-Clarke Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Wigan target Ivan Ramis has received an interesting offer from another PL club apparently. Haven't we been linked to him somewhere? It's apparently Fulham and WHU who are the clubs, not us.

Thedelldays Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Hoilett is a good signing. Let's not pretend he hasn't gone there for money though. No chance we could compete with that, or many other clubs. IMO he'd have done well at a whole host of clubs with better facilities, stadia etc. QPR are trying to rush some success with little groundwork. Might work, they have the finance but it's not the way I like to see things done as it's very shaky ground, falls apart easily and brings in primarily money focused players. But still a good signing. how are they exactly..?
S-Clarke Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 tbh I think QPR are doing some clever business and are taking their time over it.

Surely it could be argued that they are just strengthening quickly in order to finish midtable and avoid a relegation scrap like last season. I think they're doing remarkably well and expect them to be fine right from the off.
Panda Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Hargreaves training with QPR - they certainly mean business!
Gingeletiss Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 tbh I think QPR are doing some clever business and are taking their time over it. Like us.
Flyer Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 how are they exactly..? New training ground New cat 1 academy new scouting structure involving hundreds of scouts new 45k stadium with roof to come Everything has been sorted within 1 year of Fernandes arriving. Saints are trying to do it the Norwich/Swansea way and I do think QPR got it wrong last season and Warnock splintered the squad by signing SWP and Barton. Im sure Saints fans want to sign big names but it causes problems signing someone on 2-3 times the other players wages especially if they arent actually that good. Saints will be ok if they go down, WHU will not if they are throwing £17m at players like Carroll.
Matthew Le God Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 New training ground New cat 1 academy new scouting structure involving hundreds of scouts new 45k stadium with roof to come Everything has been sorted within 1 year of Fernandes arriving. - QPR didn't apply for category 1 status, I don't know why you think they are getting cat 1 status? They aren't and won't for at least 3 years. - QPR haven't even decided on a site for a new stadium, let alone got planning permission. - A 45k for QPR will be a white elephant. - QPR's training ground is still in early stages. Fernandes has a long way to go and certainly isn't "all sorted out within one year".

Im delighted with the progress and foundations being built seeing as out owner has not even been here a year.
doubleonothing Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Sky Sports @SkySports Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik has been linked with moves to Southampton and AC Milan but has hinted he could stay at Rennes - http://bit.ly/OtxH5M

SuperSAINT Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Flyer vs MLG is like watching two jedi's fighting each other, throwing links & stats around.

RedFear Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 At least MLG is on the right forum. exactly. still havent worked out what make flyer think we want to be kept up to date with all qpr's developments

Please show me something that confirms QPR actually have cat 1 status, not that they aim to get it one day. - Thats why I said to come, the owner has confirmed it will happen It took Brighton 14 years to move to a new stadium. Not at all, Southampton have already shown in recent years they can sustain 30k+ crowds in the top flight. QPR have not. In fact you don't need to go back many years to see them average circa 10k in the 2nd tier. - Training ground to open next year. Has that been confirmed? You were wrong on the academy status, maybe you are here as well.
Mr Saints Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 There has to be more to life than this. My thoughts exactly.
Saint Stimp Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 There has to be more to life than this. Sums up MLG perfectly...
SuperMikey Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Kana-Biyik would be a great signing. Not sure if he's a great ball-playing defender but he's certainly a fantastic athlete and incredibly strong and quick.
itchen_dan Posted 28 July, 2012 Posted 28 July, 2012 Piece in the Sunday People tomorrow about a potential signing written by Nixon. He says he's not an exciting player and it's unlikely we'll get him but there is an interest.
