LeBenali Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 We can't as far as I know. It's a full season loan without a recall Adkins was quoted as saying in the press conference earlier ""Aaron Martin, who has waited patiently on the bench, has gone to Crystal Palace for a half season or full season of games to aid his development." I read this as meaning we have the option to recall him in January (or indeed Palace can send him back), although I guess he may just have forgotten how long we loaned him for! Crazy Diamond Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Turkish is top ITK, no doubt about it, but he gets his stories from me so I don't know if you want to have a joint first place or put me above him - whichever suits you Glasgow, I'm easy. I think the site misquoted what he has said from what I saw on Saints Player. Pretty sure he was talking about 50% of players coming through the academy and then spoke about Martin in that context. SNSUN Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Simon Kjær could be a name to watch over the next couple of weeks. I started the Simon Kjaer rumour on Football Rumours at the start of summer as a joke. It's good to see it's still alive. FWIW Kjaer is a top defender and if we do end up getting him (which we won't) I wish to declare myself an ITK.

Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Can I just say to people questioning others views on players Saints should buy and saying that they are not ITK, that this is a HCDAJFU thread where people can post names who they personally feel can do a job for us whether or not it is actually going to happen. People just need to relax and not take everything at face value in this thread sometimes. It can get very tiresome.

SaintRichmond Posted 14 July, 2012 Share Posted 14 July, 2012 I would guess because Martin is on loan we have the option to recall him anytime we want. Bart going without a replacement definitely lined up does seem a little worrying right now though. Problem was, Notts County insisted they wanted a Goalkeeper, otherwise Fourpast would have gone

SuperMikey Posted 14 July, 2012 Share Posted 14 July, 2012 Rafal Wolski from Legia. Highly talented 19 year old attacking midfielder. Quick, good passing, incredibly composed and astounding skill. Played for Poland in the Euros. Would be an excellent signing. You can see from tonight that we're toying with the idea of playing 4-5-1, he would be perfect 'in the hole'. ottery st mary Posted 15 July, 2012 Share Posted 15 July, 2012 (edited) Mannone..Arsenal ? Dawlish Town are not interested in taking our Tommy as a reserve GK....Not football league standard... I was impressed with Stephens , Ward-Prowse, Shaw and Chambers...Potential is obviously there and we will be seeing a lot more of these lads. Anderlecht showed that they were at least 4 weeks ahead in training and match play.. Arsenal had a lot of youngsters and a few experienced players...and both Saints games were training games. Reality of what was on display and what will come in training and friendly games... Lots more to come from the mighty Saints. WIFM Sorry should be on other thread... Accept Mannone in GK backup... ON LOAN.... Edited 15 July, 2012 by ottery st mary

Neither would want to be third choice. getting both of these wouldn't surprise me. Seems like they are both highly rated BUT between them they haven't even played 50 league games yet. We will need two decent keepers (KD will not be good enough for much more than 2 more seasons I would think) and having two exciting prospects fighting it out will be great for the club. I reckon the best video to gage this guys quality would be the one of all the goals he conceded last year. Being good at kicking and catching crosses is no good if he lets in sloppy goals. The best keepers may not pull of worldy saves week in, week out. What makes them great is the fact they very rarely make mistakes.

rooney Posted 15 July, 2012 Share Posted 15 July, 2012 I like the look of Gazzaniga on the video. As well as his kicking, commands his box which is an advatange because of his height at 6ft 5".
