SuperSAINT Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Kevin De Bruyne? Forgot about that one! - Seems like forever ago we heard about that.
SuperSAINT Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 he replied to me confirming this deal isn't the Buttner deal. Nice one I bet you it's someone completely out of the blue. You were right.
View From The Top Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 he replied to me confirming this deal isn't the Buttner deal. Replied to me that "It's had a mentioned".
Soggy Bottom Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Replied to me that "It's had a mentioned". http://www.goal.com/id-ID/news/784/transfer-pemain/2012/07/12/3237385/alexander-buttner-jalani-tes-medis-southampton-akhir-pekan?source=breakingnews According to Algemeen Dagblad , Alexander Buttner transfer went ahead and planned the 23-year player was in Southampton to undergo medical tests later than Friday (13/7) tomorrow.Transfer Buttner doomed to fail because of Vitesse Arnhem have revealed the involvement of a third party requesting the part of the deal. Southampton reportedly made an offer of € 8 million received by Vitesse. Buttner did not encounter significant problems when it agreed on a personal contract with the club's Premier League campaign.
Thedelldays Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Defoe would be a brilliant signing for at least 15 teams in the league
merrimd Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 http://www.goal.com/id-ID/news/784/transfer-pemain/2012/07/12/3237385/alexander-buttner-jalani-tes-medis-southampton-akhir-pekan?source=breakingnews According to Algemeen Dagblad , Alexander Buttner transfer went ahead and planned the 23-year player was in Southampton to undergo medical tests later than Friday (13/7) tomorrow.Transfer Buttner doomed to fail because of Vitesse Arnhem have revealed the involvement of a third party requesting the part of the deal. I do hope not!
rshephard3 Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Not a chance in hell I'd swap strike forces even if they did have those 2. One unknown quantity and one individual mercenary who can't pass. Goals probably, team progression no. Anyone that is so driven by money that they sign for PFC, a club with no training ground, no infrastructure and playing in a shed, can pretty much fck off. Yeah, I'd rather my club struggled at the bottom of the league in a relegation scrap than snapped up a proven top flight striker like Defoe. It's hardly a shock to see a premier league striker move clubs for a quick pay packet. And he was class at Pompey, same as WHU and Spurs. If strikers aren't a bit greedy and selfish they don't tend to score very often.
Dig Dig Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 The club have said that the foundation of our transfer policy is to sign young, talented and preferably English players who also meet a defined criteria regarding attitude and personality.......and people think we would sign Jermaine Defoe? Would he be worth breaking our wage structure for? He'll be looking for his last pay day.
SuperMikey Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 I do hope not! He's an unknown quantity but if Nige and Nicola think he's worth that then it's fine by me! Could've sworn they accepted 4m Euros though before all this third party nonsense.
Saint Charlie Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Scott Dann? Nixon confirmed player is domestic and commands a fee.
beavis17 Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Scott Dann? Nixon confirmed player is domestic and commands a fee. Reckon you're probably right. Schmeichel perhaps?
Saint Charlie Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Naughton? Could be, think AVB wants to look at him first though
Saint Garrett Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Wouldnt surprise me if it was Dann. Would be a decent signing, not amazing but an area which we need to strengthen,
SuperSAINT Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Scott Dann? Nixon confirmed player is domestic and commands a fee. When he said it wasn't Buttner, Dann was the 1st player that crossed my mind.
Wade Garrett Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Wouldnt surprise me if it was Dann. Would be a decent signing, not amazing but an area which we need to strengthen, He's a Jonah.
EBS1980 Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Peoples obsession with Schmeichel is almost on par with those who think Owen should sign for us!
Give it to Ron Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 I doubt we'll sign anyone tomorrow Tonight then? ;-)
Lighthouse Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 A relegation magnet. No, Brum got relegated because they couldn't score goals (lowest in the Prem when they went down). Their defence was comfortably midtable. Blackburn had several tallented players, including Dann, but were terribly managed. I'd be very happy if we got him.
Hopkins Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 If Nixon is right, and is also right in saying it's a domestic transfer then I think it might be Dann. Nixon has links around that area.
Verbal Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 I doubt we'll sign anyone tomorrow Which is a sure sign we'll sign someone tomorrow.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 nixon says the player has had a mention previously, so we can now narrow it down to about 100 players lol its not schmichael because nixon says this player is good and he has previously tweeted saying he doubts KS is prem quality. my wishful thinking is zaha, ince or phillips.
doggface Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Of course we will sign a player tomorrow, it's Friday ffs
Saint Garrett Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Sure if it was a big signing then it would be being reported elsewhere ?
Lighthouse Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 You may be right, but I still have a feeling their 'great defence' was helped hugely by playing a defensive midfield and basically no attack. If you set up not to concede goals, defenders are going to look good as there's usually a helping hand for them, cover for mistakes and plenty of clean sheets. That said, we're so short of CBs I'd be happy to sign him. I'd have said that was the mark of a good team, rather than just a defensive one. Last season we had a decent defensive midfield with the likes of Cork, Morgan, Dean and Chaplow all working hard and tracking back to protect our defence. We had the second best defence in the League but we were still the top goal scorers because we had a good, well balanced midfield.
Wade Garrett Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 nixon says the player has had a mention previously, so we can now narrow it down to about 100 players lol its not schmichael because nixon says this player is good and he has previously tweeted saying he doubts KS is prem quality. my wishful thinking is zaha, ince or phillips. Jarvis or Keegan.
MOSaint Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Also doubt this is Dann he's on about, I recall in the past when people ask him about Dann he doesn't seem to think that highly of him.
Appy Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Sure if it was a big signing then it would be being reported elsewhere ? It is a player than has already been mentioned, so it has.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 what about ryo miyaichi? he was on loan at bolton last season and made a good impression. nixon has close contacts at bolton and player has been linked to saints before which nixon never deined when questioned. Just said bolton had 1st refusal.
SaintNeil90 Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 (edited) The club have said that the foundation of our transfer policy is to sign young, talented and preferably English players who also meet a defined criteria regarding attitude and personality.......and people think we would sign Jermaine Defoe? Would he be worth breaking our wage structure for? He'll be looking for his last pay day. So why did we sign Steven Davis then? Only 1 out of 2 signings has fit your 'criteria'... Just because we want young hungry and english doesnt mean we wont sign some experience too. Edited 12 July, 2012 by SaintNeil90
hypochondriac Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Bet we make at least one signing tomorrow afternoon/evening.
beavis17 Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Soccer Sauce @soccer_sauce Just in..Wigan have reportedly lodged a £4million bid for Blackpool winger Matt Phillips. #WAFC #Blackpoolfc #bfc
beavis17 Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko @roversmadfan1 Well off for centre halves just now. No sales yet either. Nobody wants them or will pay prices Nixon just said this to a Blackburn fan. Would seem to rule out Dann...
Dig Dig Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 So why did we sign Steven Davis then? Only 1 out of 2 signings has fit your 'criteria'... Just because we want young hungry and english doesnt mean we wont sign some experience too. 1. Davis is 27 not 30 2. Davis fits into the wage structure. Defoe is on 60K + a week. Do you really think it's worth paying him upwards of that? This is his last chance for a big pay day so you can gaurentee you'd have too. 3. I don't know anything about Davis but Defoe definitely comes across as a bit of a knob. 4. It's not my criteria, it's the clubs 5. Other than Davis, nearly every player we have been consistently linked with does fit the criteria
Saint_Randell Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko @roversmadfan1 Well off for centre halves just now. No sales yet either. Nobody wants them or will pay prices Nixon just said this to a Blackburn fan. Would seem to rule out Dann... One down..... hmmmmmm
MOSaint Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Nixon recently tweeted that this player he is on about is English. Ince Phillips Clyne Naughton Jarvis Zaha Curtis Davies Could be any of those
Give it to Ron Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Curtis Davies? They mentioned him on the SSN transfer round up and mentioned 4 clubs that maybe interested - we were not mentioned but they said no-one has put in a bid yet.
beavis17 Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Owen? We're apparently paying a fee so can't be Hargreaves or Owen.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 We're apparently paying a fee so can't be Hargreaves or Owen. What else do we know?
Appy Posted 12 July, 2012 Posted 12 July, 2012 Rumours are rife about Michu. It's a domestic transfer though.
