saint_bert Posted 31 May, 2012 Posted 31 May, 2012 wasn't he on loan at Swansea last season & spent most of it on the bench ? He was. I was listening to a journo who is very close to the Chelsea camp talk the other day, he said that Chelsea are going to take a bit more consideration about loaning their players out from now on.
sir_fred Posted 31 May, 2012 Posted 31 May, 2012 Swedish international Emir Bajrami is available from Twente. Have had a tough season but he is a good pacy winger who knows how to beat his man.
the scud Posted 31 May, 2012 Posted 31 May, 2012 Regarding the CM choice what happened to the Steven Davis from Rangers rumour?
Professor Posted 31 May, 2012 Posted 31 May, 2012 Obviously, as you've not mentioned him, you mean to play alongside Spiderman (who imho is 'real quality' as you put it!)? Yes, I'm assuming the club will want someone to complement Morgan in the attacking MF role.
SuperMikey Posted 31 May, 2012 Posted 31 May, 2012 Regarding the CM choice what happened to the Steven Davis from Rangers rumour? It was probably just that, a rumour. Shame because I really rate him. If we ship out a CM (Hammond, Chaplow etc) then he would be great to bring in so we can rotate our centre midfield with more quality. Yes, I'm assuming the club will want someone to complement Morgan in the attacking MF role. Imo we also need someone to provide some strength and bulk at CM as well. Hammond plays that kind of role but I think he's too lightweight to be effective at it in the Prem. Someone like Birmingham had this year in N'Daw, big strong bloke but can pass the ball quite well too. I would love us to sign Liam Trotter, think he'd be perfect for us.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 31 May, 2012 Posted 31 May, 2012 I have noticed that a Saints fan asked Alan Nixon when the international transfer window opens and about us transfer-wise etc and he said: "It barely matters as u can't play until friendlies in July anyway. Some deals set up already."
EBS1980 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Regarding the CM choice what happened to the Steven Davis from Rangers rumour? If there was any truth in this we may have been waiting to today as 1st June is when rangers players salary go back to full amount and as a result their release clauses kick in so would be cheaper to buy.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Joey Barton would be a good signing. He is going to Pompey as soon as the embargo is lifted. They offered a higher salary than anyone else including LA Galaxsy and some team owned by the Satan of Brunai.
SaintNeil90 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 I have noticed that a Saints fan asked Alan Nixon when the international transfer window opens and about us transfer-wise etc and he said: "It barely matters as u can't play until friendlies in July anyway. Some deals set up already." That was a general comment, not saints related.
badgerx16 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 ......some team owned by the Satan of Brunai. Bet they're a devilishly difficult team to draw away in the cup.
Pilchards Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Someone from Bolton said we have done a 3m deal for one of there players. Saw it on forum of there's last night, an English name!
itchen_dan Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Someone from Bolton said we have done a 3m deal for one of there players. Saw it on forum of there's last night, an English name! Mark Davies
SuperSAINT Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Someone from Bolton said we have done a 3m deal for one of there players. Saw it on forum of there's last night, an English name! Mark Davies Price is about right. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-told-it-s-3-5m-for-davies-1-4560441
Mowgli Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Has anyone else notices that Newcastle and Saints seem to chasing a lot of the same players (allegedly). Presumably this is something to do with Pardew memorising the 'wish list' he was given by scouts at Southampton.
fish fingers Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Wes Brown is at Brockenhurst station. Just saying.
Pilchards Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Wes Brown is at Brockenhurst station. Just saying. Now he's in Tesco buying some envelopes, blimey this could be a deal that's on.
Saint J 77 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Price is about right. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-told-it-s-3-5m-for-davies-1-4560441 If Newcastle land the Bolton target we should go for Guthrie. He would be an absolute bargin on a free transfer. He looked like a great player when he was here last time. Admittedly that was in the championship but he has had alot of premier league experince since.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 @RealAgentSouth saying we're interested in Ben Foster, with QPR. Prob BS but would be a great signing.
fish fingers Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 @RealAgentSouth saying we're interested in Ben Foster' date=' with QPR. Prob BS but would be a great signing.[/quote'] What about Wes brown? has he heard anything? This is the big one.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 For the last time, that realagentsouth guy is a known fake who has no more idea than you or I what is going on.
Saint_Randell Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 I cant believe people are falling for him, how many times does it need to be said!??????
SaintNeil90 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Wes Brown is at Brockenhurst station. Just saying. My mates girlfriend works at 'The Pig' in Brockenhurst. He was there for a wedding, nothing more.
the scud Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Paul Scharner of West Brom hasnt yet signed new contract and could be a free?
Saint_Ash Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 My mates girlfriend works at 'The Pig' in Brockenhurst. He was there for a wedding, nothing more. Had a lovely 16oz T-Bone steak there a couple of months ago. Nice place.
krissyboy31 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Has anyone else notices that Newcastle and Saints seem to chasing a lot of the same players (allegedly). Presumably this is something to do with Pardew memorising the 'wish list' he was given by scouts at Southampton. Probably more to the fact that we are working to similar transfer budgets.
Jez Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Had a lovely 16oz T-Bone steak there a couple of months ago. Nice place. Fatty. Incidentally, I hope we sign Ben Foster.
Stattmeister Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Keith Andrews or Mark Davies in CM... good options?
supersonic Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Keith Andrews or Mark Davies in CM... good options? no.
Under Weststand Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Andy Johnson & Danny Murphy released from Fulham, Murphy could be a good short term option for CM.
Stattmeister Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/other/premier-league-released-list.pdf
St Mikie Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Here is the list of contracts that are up this year. http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/other/premier-league-released-list.pdf
stevegrant Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/other/premier-league-released-list.pdf Pick 3 realistic signings from that list (Drogba doesn't count as realistic ): I'd go for Danny Murphy, Salomon Kalou and Craig Gordon.
sperm_john Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 gonna be shot down in flames for this, but why so excited about signing a premier league reject/contract up player? those players arent going to be enthused about going from chelski to play for us, they will feel washed out ...we need to be looking in other places for players, not premier league out of contract pages
Give it to Ron Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 gonna be shot down in flames for this, but why so excited about signing a premier league reject/contract up player? those players arent going to be enthused about going from chelski to play for us, they will feel washed out ...we need to be looking in other places for players, not premier league out of contract pages Because you can then spend your budget on others??
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 I like the sound of that Ivanhoe Heskey bloke. Ivanhoe is a great name, massively underused.
Thedelldays Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Pick 3 realistic signings from that list (Drogba doesn't count as realistic ): I'd go for Danny Murphy, Salomon Kalou and Craig Gordon. can't ever see him being a player we would go for...but probrebnyak..?
Give it to Ron Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 can't ever see him being a player we would go for...but probrebnyak..? Just read that the POG and Murphy are negotiating new deals...
beavis17 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/other/premier-league-released-list.pdf Any idea why Hoilett isn't on that list?
Dig Dig Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Offering Murphy a one year deal wouldn't be a bad idea. Bags of experience and a decent guy as well. Still has a lot to offer IMO.
stevegrant Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Any idea why Hoilett isn't on that list? Because he's under 24 and Blackburn have offered him a new contract of equal or higher value to his previous one, so technically they still retain his registration unless another club agrees compensation with them.
Under Weststand Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Murphy, Gordon and Guthrie would be a decent trio. I'd maybe swap Murphy for Hargreves on a pay as you play deal.
beavis17 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Assuming deals aren't agreed with the players on the released list this would be my revised transfer targets list. Craig Gordon Kieran Trippier Curtis Davies Danny Murphy Thomas Ince/Matt Phillips Dani Benitez Jay Rodriguez
Matthew Le God Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Murphy, Gordon and Guthrie would be a decent trio. I'd maybe swap Murphy for Hargreves on a pay as you play deal. How many Premier League footballers do you think have ever agreed to sign for a club "pay as you play deal"?
beavis17 Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Because he's under 24 and Blackburn have offered him a new contract of equal or higher value to his previous one, so technically they still retain his registration unless another club agrees compensation with them. I see. Would be a fantastic signing but imagine he'll go to one of the top six...
Saint_Ash Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Fatty. Incidentally, I hope we sign Ben Foster. Shut up baldy.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Murphy still in talks with Fulham as is King with Spurs. Mark Davies is a very good CM as well, Newcastle told he would cost 3.5m
stevegrant Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 I see. Would be a fantastic signing but imagine he'll go to one of the top six... Suspect it's more likely he'll go abroad as the compensation payable would be fixed at around £750k, he's been linked with a few Bundesliga clubs. Domestically, reports suggest it could be anything up to around £5m.
DT Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 Lesley King released. Robs to Reading. Would be good for a season
Saint Charlie Posted 1 June, 2012 Posted 1 June, 2012 King hasn't been released - he is still discussing his contract and will see how his knee is in pre season.
