The Cat Posted 1 May, 2012 Share Posted 1 May, 2012 Red Lion (Where the landlord went a bit mental for some reason which wound a few large blokes up before they left) I believe it may have something to do with him being a Skate.

MarkSFC Posted 1 May, 2012 Share Posted 1 May, 2012 Circumstances unfortunately dictated watching the game on tv and in the pub and The Alex was the venue of choice but it could not have been better either during or after. AWESOME ATMOSPHERE. Best pub in town for football!

I replied with, cos either he forgot to shave or i need new glasses. I was so ****ed it may have been my glasses mind. lol
This Charming Man Posted 2 May, 2012 Share Posted 2 May, 2012 + Soul Cellar. Can't believe I forgot that, especially with the fine entertainment those two lads scrapping in the street provided.
This Charming Man Posted 2 May, 2012 Share Posted 2 May, 2012 Red Lion (Where the landlord went a bit mental for some reason which wound a few large blokes up before they left) The landlord is a skate. You should pass all this information on to your mates and make sure you don't use the boozer again until he's gone. Apparently he was wearing a Skate shirt after the game at their place. dune Posted 2 May, 2012 Share Posted 2 May, 2012 Not been in the Angel for years, used to be a good old fashioned pub that did a lovely ham egg and chips for next to nothing. Attracted quite a few odd local characters back then, does the old teddy boy still work there?
edprice1984 Posted 2 May, 2012 Share Posted 2 May, 2012 Yates' till 6ish Beers on train back to Gloucester Regal (in Gloucester) for one - Got some strange looks from everyone in there, mind you it is a rugby city. Home - where I watched the game again, then watched Football League Show and polished off bottle of Champers while wife went to bed. Suprisingly woke up next day with a clear head, although had no voice!
jjsaint Posted 2 May, 2012 Share Posted 2 May, 2012 Suprisingly woke up next day with a clear head, although had no voice! Same here. I actually listened to that little voive inside me that said 'stop'! Went to the Prince of Wales, Royal Oak, Woo Woo and the Grapes. Not a good pint of beer in sight... Finished with a Benali Biryani at Kuti's.

Ivan Oar Posted 2 May, 2012 Share Posted 2 May, 2012 Indeed SW11 Saint - can't believe so many on this forum seem to use the "Guide Dog" as a post-match watering hole. It is such an old-fashioned hostelry and you have got to like real ale to appreciate its charms but the landlord and landlady are big fans and it is a nice welcoming place to either drown your sorrows or celebrate 3 points. Len sends his regards!!!! I don't get it either - It's like sitting in someones front room.

He's a decent bloke, who runs a good pub. It was a saints fan who kicked off with another saints fan in there after the game, nothing to do with him being a Skate. I spoke to him afterwards and he was saddened by the whole thing, couldn't understand why it would kick off on a day like that, when we were supposed to be celebrating. The bloke who kicked off was ****ed as a rat, and out of order, it happened right in front of us. On another note, Sky Sports News filmed the celebrations in there before it kicked off (the agrro, not the game), did anyone ever see any footage of it because I haven't seen any mention of it. The landlord was a complete c//t - I bought a round of drinks, had a chat with a mate for all of 10 seconds then was thrown out for literally f//k all.
