Pat from Poole Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Back to the wonderful Maple Leaff. There was some Dub'n'Grub bash kicking off as we were leaving, looked like it might be quite a lively one.
doddisalegend Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 The train station......I did split a celebration bottle of water and kit-kat with the kids though......
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 The Guide Dog where there were a few hearty renditions of the Woolston Ferry, then up to the Avenue and then finished off in the Cleveland Boy or Bay, can never remember which. Thank God my wife pitched up to get me home in one piece.

Dr Who? Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 I went to the tiger enclosure, at the zoo. Still would not have swapped the day for anything, what an outcome!

Son of Bob Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Started at The Alex, onto The Pensioners for some great old school songs, topped off with a celebratory curry. What a day...
sperm_john Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 randomly que pasa, then randomly for a mexican meal, then avondales where some bloke was stood on a table
ant Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Had a sneaky one in Varsity (most of London Road wasn't letting people in as it was so packed!) then shared a bottle of champagne with my better half on the train to Fratton of all places! We went to see Blood Red Shoes at the Wedgewood Rooms, felt a little odd to leave the city but had an immense day all-round. Best of all was a skate trying to kick off at Southampton Central because a group of us were singing and chanting! He was being held back with his presumed partner giving it the "It's not worth it!" Of all the days to pitch up in Southampton if you're that over-sensitive...
Jack Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Chambers Avondales Varsity TGIs Revs Won £120 on the football, and spent £100 on top I reckon. Well earned hangover!

The9 Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Varsity London Rd, got absolutely shartfaced on champagne and joined in with quite a lot of Saints songs during the 3pm games, then um, hang on... vaguely recall watching some of Norwich v Liverpool. Bit vague by then, er, checking mates' Facebook tagging, around 7ish we wandered to Bedford Place, got a kebab from Zorbas at 7:20pm, walked to the Winston, I won £5 on Million Pound Drop on the trivia machine despite being completely bladdered and never having played it before, and back to our mates' to watch the match again and drink and drink and drink (and then watch Match of the Day which I have no recollection of, and the FL Show probably for the last time, which I similarly cannot remember anything about.
gazzzza Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 (edited) The Guide Dog. Is there anywhere else? Absolutely, brilliant sing song & some nice grub thrown in, best pub in SOTON. need some shades on today though. Edited 29 April, 2012 by gazzzza spelling mistake
stkev7 Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Varsity was absolutely rocking, we then smashed a bottle of champagne on the train back to Waterloo then caused widespread chaos in the boozers of London Bridge. Top day!
LostBoys Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 i have a slight memory loss due to an excess of Stella but it was definately in Romsey

hasper57saint Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Home to Shropshire where we all celebrated after a 400 miles return trip.
SW11_Saint Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 The Avenue. Cracking celebration amid a lot of loyal and very relieved fellow fans. Not doing it at Boro was gutting, but sharing the day with so many Saints made it even better. Staggered off about 10pm for a takeaway... A memorable day.
View From The Top Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 The Swan and The Sun in Stafford where a few of us toasted our return to the sunlit uplands with pints of Titanic. Thankfully the nippers cricket was called off today as I felt like death.

Durleyfos Posted 30 April, 2012 Posted 30 April, 2012 Corriander Lounge. We got a bit rowdy and I threw up in my pint. Happy days. Only downside was some uppity bird giving us the evil eye. Birds, eh?
Saint_Ash Posted 30 April, 2012 Posted 30 April, 2012 I've still never been to this mystical 'Guide Dog' pub - must make an effort to get there next season. When we re PREMIER LEAGUE!! Nice to meet your wife and daughter Duncan - the boy done well!! Great pub on a match day, small little place that does great beers, not really for lager drinkers. Won the CAMRA pub of the year. Prefer the Platform Tavern and the Wellington in Freemantle myself but a great pub nonetheless.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 1 May, 2012 Posted 1 May, 2012 I've still never been to this mystical 'Guide Dog' pub - must make an effort to get there next season. When we re PREMIER LEAGUE!! Nice to meet your wife and daughter Duncan - the boy done well!! Indeed SW11 Saint - can't believe so many on this forum seem to use the "Guide Dog" as a post-match watering hole. It is such an old-fashioned hostelry and you have got to like real ale to appreciate its charms but the landlord and landlady are big fans and it is a nice welcoming place to either drown your sorrows or celebrate 3 points. Len sends his regards!!!!
SaltashSaint Posted 1 May, 2012 Posted 1 May, 2012 I jumped in the car with my five-year-old daughter and drove for three hours before I got back home to Cornwall and ran around my house like a mad thing. I still can't believe we did it!
