RobM Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 Massive respect for not just what he has done for us, but for having the balls and courage to stand by his own decisions, even the ones that had the potential to upset people. While not always popular, I can't think of anything he has done wrong. He is the driving force behind us. When times go bad it's the Chairman that gets the blame, so it's only fair that in our good times, the Chairman gets the credit!

The Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 I realise that there are great expectations and I will ensure that every effort is expended to meet these expectations, but effectively we need to restructure and create a solid base from which we can build and become successful. This will take time. We will take our example from our supporters, who already are what we aim to become – Premier League. With their support we will again become a Premier League Club. The supporters, the City of Southampton and the region deserve nothing less. Everyone at the Club will be fully committed to responding to this great challenge Nicola Cortese July 2009

Stanley Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 They showed him briefly on the bbc, and he had empty seats next to him. Having failed to get a ticket, I found this highly galling and immediately began organising a protest. I am pleased to see from the pictures above that he was obviously keeping seats warm for the Liebherr family so I have unchained myself from the Ted Bates statue and cancelled my planned self-immolation. VectisSaint Posted 29 April, 2012 Share Posted 29 April, 2012 (edited) He's like the Maggie Thatcher of the football world. He rules with an Iron fist, but runs the club very very well. What a highly inappropriate comparison. Lowe was the Maggie Thatcher of Football, a ****. Just like Thatcher was the worst thing that ever happened to this country, Lowe was the wrost thing that ever happened to our club. Cortese on the other hand is one of the best things that has ever happened. Sorry to bring the word Lowe to this day, but had to be done with mentions of that awful woman. I don't care, he does it for a reason and it works. As for NC's relationships with the press, I think a lot has been learnt here with the 'South Coast Club' saga. Leicestersaint Posted 29 April, 2012 Share Posted 29 April, 2012 Nicola C certainly deserves great credit for what has happened since we reached the nadir - I have confidence that he knows what he is doing (which is more than you can say for most chairman of football clubs). Faz Posted 29 April, 2012 Share Posted 29 April, 2012 Oh noes!!! That means the press won't be able to get any information out of us to twist. The problem is that the journos have space to fill, and if we're not giving out info, then they write what they want. Not saying we should change our stance, but need to be prepared for a sh1t fest from them if it is the case that we maintain radio silence so far as the media is concerned. I quite like a siege mentality myself.
