Window Cleaner Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 If it were saints I'd be worried at how easy it's been. Surely can't carry on like that for 3 more halves? WH haven't had to be that good. Never seen Cardiff play so badly. Maybe West Ham just needed the extra money
Sour Mash Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Have said all along it'd be West Ham going through, comfortably a better side than the other 3. Just wish I'd lumped decent money on it.
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Almost 3-0, i'll stand by my first impression that this will be a rout and over by 90mins.
Window Cleaner Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Cardiff and shockingly bad tonight. Long old season for a squad that's probably not homogenous enough.West Ham have been playing quite well since they got tonked at Ipswich, OK they couldn't win at home but they certainly weren't all that bad.
latter day saint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Cardiff are cr@p . cant believe how easy it is for West Ham bit of a poor show all the empty seats dotted about as well
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Seen stranger things than a team lose a massive first leg lead in a competition. Bet at some point over the tie WH are tested. True, but they need to make sure they stay in it - and at this rate it's slipping away pretty quickly and it could end up being too much to do in the 2nd leg.
Turkish Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 One thing that has been said a lot recently that really p*sses me off and Billy Davies just said it "2-0 is a dodgy scoreline" how the f*ck can being 2-0 up be a bad thing?
Saint J 77 Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Cardiff and shockingly bad tonight. Cardiff have bottled it tonight but if we were playing them tonight instead of West Ham you could of guaranteed they would have turned up and given us a much closer game. I'm still so glad we don't have to through this.
Sour Mash Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 All along being the last 45 minutes?! Hell of a long way to go yet. I wouldn't be over confident with at least 5 halves of football left! No "all along" being this thread if you read back. They're the best team out of the 4, very strong.
dune Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 ffs what with sorting out new flights and parking and changing hire car pick up times i've completely missed this game. BMI baby are utter ****s.
dune Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Cardiff have bottled it tonight but if we were playing them tonight instead of West Ham you could of guaranteed they would have turned up and given us a much closer game. I'm still so glad we don't have to through this. undoubtedly. WHU finnished the season far more strongly than us.
sfc4prem Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Who cares if West Ham go up? It's a decent away day and they are by far the best team in the playoffs as proven by their points haul. As much as I dislike Big Fat Sam and their owners, I feel they will go up.
Dark Munster Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Bugger, if they win they will be a point ahead of us. Not fair that they are allowed to play more games than us.
aintforever Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Who cares if West Ham go up? It's a decent away day and they are by far the best team in the playoffs as proven by their points haul. As much as I dislike Big Fat Sam and their owners, I feel they will go up. West Ham would probably be best equipped to stay up next year. I think it's very much in our interest that someone potentially weaker goes up.
markr27 Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Kenny Miller is so ****. He'll be the difference whether they go through or not IMO. Misses far too many chances - looking back at the Saints Cardiff game at St Marys he had at least three very good opportunities and fluffed all of them. No doubt in my mind that if the chances that he has had tonight fell to Joe Mason, it would be 2-2 now.
Saint_clark Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 That bubbles song is so f*cking boring, I've heard it at least 20 times already tonight.
dune Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 cardiff need a goal back or the next leg is a foregone conclusion.
SNSUN Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 My children were reading this thread, I'm so unspeakably mad at this post... ...they now want to be frogs.
WealdSaint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Watched a few WHU games in the last few weeks. Seems that sides recently seem to have an off day when they play them. Looks like big Sam's going to Wembley
suewhistle Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Had a look in second half - Cardiff not very good although they were certainly trying. Only 23k crowd - puts our average of nearly 27k(?) in perspective..
Dr Who? Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Well they need to get the first goal on Monday, but cannot see it. West Ham for Wembley heartbreak?
farawaysaint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 FFS I'd rather have any other team in the prem than the Hammers as they'll be by far the toughest nut to crack of the other promotion candidates. Still, they played like champions tonight the bastards
Jack Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Doesn't matter all that much if West Ham do go up, they've already spunked next season's transfer budget
shurlock Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Very easy for West Ham tonight - they are a strong, compact side. Still they'll have nightmares of Zigic springing like a salmon at the backpost to head in a 90th min winner in any playoff final.
SNSUN Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 I still think one of the winners of the "B" semi final will be the winner of the play-offs. Birmingham and Blackpool are good attacking teams, and I can see West Ham failing against them should they make the final.
Ken Tone Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 I still think one of the winners of the "B" semi final will be the winner of the play-offs. Birmingham and Blackpool are good attacking teams, and I can see West Ham failing against them should they make the final. Well Birmingham certainly finished the season well. Let's face it, not many have beaten Reading. But basically we want whichever is the weakest team to somehow get through by a fluke, to provide some relatively easy points next year.
Bearsy Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 I voted West Hams cos then at the start of the seasons we'll be higher up the league than if Birmingham, Blackpool or Cardiffs get promoted.
S-Clarke Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 This has been such a shambolic game of football to be honest, total dross.
Turkish Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 This has been such a shambolic game of football to be honest, total dross. Yep, both poor, can't see ever of them troubling west Ham.
VectisSaint Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 Any chance we could prise Tom Ince away if Blackpool don't go up? He is beginning to look very classy given how few games he has played.
Lazlo78 Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 Blackpool is trying to play possession football, but after what we've witnessed this season, they look like a poorer version of us. Put Schneiderlin & Co. in there and see Brum fold...
Wiggles31 Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 Brum look woeful. Its actually quite funny now how we were worried about them in January. And Marlon King, he is utterly useless.
John Boy Saint Posted 4 May, 2012 Posted 4 May, 2012 We had friends round tonight who are sans Sky, they are also Blackpool fans (saw the light and moved south). So glad that is not us in the play-off lottery......................... Should have given them a paint roller each as the spent most of the evening stuck to our ceiling
thegaffer Posted 5 May, 2012 Posted 5 May, 2012 Got to agree. I reckon its West Hams to lose from here on in.Yep, both poor, can't see ever of them troubling west Ham.
Turkish Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 West ham 1-0 up and cruising. They look so much fitter and stronger than Cardiff. Can't see anyone stopping them, Caridff just don't look like scoring.
T.REX Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 2-0 to west ham now (4-0 on aggregate). Credit to west ham their defence is very solid and they're actually knocking it about a bit now. But i have to say Cardiff look so ineffective. They look like us if we had to play with connolly up front on his own all season.
S-Clarke Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 West ham 1-0 up and cruising. They look so much fitter and stronger than Cardiff. Can't see anyone stopping them, Caridff just don't look like scoring. 2-0 now. They're just too good for Cardiff, nothing much they can do. They're too strong, physical and powerful. They just need to keep the score down now, bit annoying cause I wanted this to be a bit of a contest but it's going to be a pretty dross 45mins.
beatlesaint Posted 7 May, 2012 Posted 7 May, 2012 Cardiff have been dreadful over both games......then again they do this year in and year out in the Play Offs.
