Shroppie Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 I asked the same question last week but didn't get an answer. I treated is as "want to go up" and voted for Blackpool. WHU - arragant attitude that they should be there so can't wait to see BFS's face when they aren't. Birmingham - can never forgive the most tedious fan in the world with whom I had to watch the snow game on tv in Fuerteventura. Droned on for 90 minutes about how Saints were obviously not good enough and would blow up, WHU everyone knew would go up because they were so good and played "such clever football" and Brum were clearly next best. So his team don't deserve it. Cardiff - least welcoming pubs near the ground I've ever encoutered. And I haven't made it to Blackpool yet, so a weekend away.
saintneilo84 Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Blackpool for me Holloway always gets them up for games in the playoffs and they are the form team at the min but still classed as the under dogs.
stev2001 Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Over heard a west ham fan chatting to a brum fan at work. They were chatting like its a foregone they will be playing each other in the final. Would love it if they both failed.
dune Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 West ham for me because they are the best side and they are in good form. That's my head talking, but i'd prefer Cardiff if I could choose.
Saint_DB Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 anyone know why the NPC has finished so early..? Perhaps so the Prem and NPC (inc playoffs) finish on the same weekend. I seem to remember Capello fighting for a few weeks off before the Euros.
dubai_phil Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Wet Sham have the squad and players to walk the playoffs. But BFS has not been at his best when they have "must win" games (their recent home form since January as an example) I just don't think he is so good with the psychology. Play Off games are one offs and it is often a slice of luck, brainfart, ball off a bum, or dodgy decision that turns the game think this will let them down. Brum & Blackpool have the manager who could get the brains in gear, Cardiff? Been there before so the fear of failure is high on the list but may get pumped up enough to win the first game. Holloway has over achieved his team before can he find that one moment again? Probably Blackpool for me
Raging Bull Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Would much prefer Cardiff to win cos I like the country, lived there for a while and went to UWIC. If they do make it and it's a weekend game I'll be down there to stay at the St David's hotel on Cardiff bay.
trousers Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 @MrSimonWilliams: http://t.co/KdkW1Xku A good read if only for this stat: West Ham's squad shares 358 international caps, Saints 56 (Connolly 43 of these)
sotonswan Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Blackpool - only team not to have spent loads of money they haven't got. Would like a Blackpool v Cardiff final with Stephen Dobbie scoring the winner. Plus I'd really like to see what Stephen Dobbie could do in the PL with Blackpool. It really gets on my wick the idiot Swansea fans who claim he's not PL quality, when in reality he just doesn't fit BR's system. I'm one of his fans, you might have guessed.
RonManager Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Cardiff for me. http://myonlycardiff.com/2012/05/02/playoffs/
Ziggy Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Cardiff for me. http://myonlycardiff.com/2012/05/02/playoffs/ Good link!
derry Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 (edited) WHU are doing a PFC, Birmingham are in deep mire financially, Blackpool are stable, but Cardiff have failed twice times in the play offs and lost to Liverpool in the Carling Cup final, because of this I'd like to see Cardiff win for once. September Saint Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Why are so many people anti West Ham?? They're not our promotion rivals any more. I want Wham to win simply because anything else is blatantly unfair. Saints, Reading and Wham have clearly been the best 3 teams in the league and it's those three that should be up, even if you do hate that baffoon Allardyce. In the same way, it was ridiculously unfair that Hudders didnt go up last season. Remember Holloway 2 seasons ago having a go at us saying 'were in the premier leagues by right.' Yeah by right coz those are the rules but not by merit. The playoffs make the league more interesting but when some cocky git like Holloway gets up by finishing 6th then lords it up, it really winds me up. Exactly!
Dr Who? Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Just want to add, I love the play offs and cannot stand West Ham.
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 2 May, 2012 Posted 2 May, 2012 Cardiff - rivalry with Swansea - West Ham and Birmingham in financial problems which also take the focus off P*mpey imploding a league below them. What's not to like?
LatvianTolix Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Hope Cardiff will manage to win the play-offs this time! would be great to have Welsh derby in the English Premierleague!!!!!
1885 Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 If you just look at the football, I'd like Cardiff to go up, as they made the playoffs so often. But looking at their fans, I'd like them and West Ham to stay in as they surely can be called "utter scum". I'd prefer Blackpool then...
Fan The Flames Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 You got to want the club with the least ability to stay up and that's a hard call, instinctively I think that would be Cardiff. However I think the winners of Birmingham Blackpool will win.
Fozzybear Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 not west ham should west ham do it, they have the most potential to stay up out of all of them With Fat Sam at the helm?.... Borlocks they do.
Mowgli Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 I see Big Fat Sam is rehearsing his excuses for failure early. Now complaining about the timing of the play offs. Not enough time to prepare apparently. More like the other teams can't wait to get at them!
Saint Garrett Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 I think with Fat Sam they'll play like they have this season and stay up because they can get draws. Just not a good way of playing when you need to win the majority of the game much rather Cardiff went up though, as I feel they'd go straight back down. I think it'll be a Brum/West Ham final though, with Brum going up.
Thedelldays Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 With Fat Sam at the helm?.... Borlocks they do. are you joking...? he plays not to lose....and has served him well in the prem very much so over the years
torsaint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Thought Blackpool played best against us this season, so expect them to join us.
Saint Garrett Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Thought Blackpool played best against us this season, so expect them to join us.Yer but haven't WHU beaten them 4-0 and 4-1 this season ?
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 I would go as far as to say WHU need to win tonight, if they go into the home leg with a deficit or a stalemate then I'd fancy Cardiff any day of the week.
terrasaint Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 100% agree. I have no love of West Ham but they finished 10 points clear of anyone else so they deserve to go up. Play offs should not start on a level footing. There are various alternatives including a series of matches with the third placed team going straight through to the final. That way finishing third would have some consolation.

Window Cleaner Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 I went for West Ham, don't particularly want them to win but I think that they are probably the best equipped to do so.
Thedelldays Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 The Moose finally saying that west ham need luck to go up now
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Just glad that we are not in amongst it all ! This!!!! I'm so pleased we can just put our feet up knowing that we've done it..
trousers Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 @jordansibley: Best of luck to @MAcMcAuliffe and Cardiff City tonight. Going to stick my neck on the line and say they will get past West Ham over 2 legs.
mcjwills Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Just watched the 2 teams walk out and my first thought was "thank god it's not us"
saintscottofthenortham Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Just about to board a plane, hopeful that when I land I shall be greeted with the news that Cardiff have spanked Wet Sham. So grateful its not us right now.
St Chalet Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 Thank god our team are getting battered in Vegas and not in Cardiff!
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 This is going to end up an absolute pasting, and render the return leg a non event if Cardiff continue like this.
aintforever Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 I think West Ham will walk the play-offs, I think if we finished 3rd we would have. Us, Reading and West Ham have been better by far this year.
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 It won't. Cardiff won't play that bad the whole game let alone 2 games. Probably not, they're coming back into it a bit more now though.
Thedelldays Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 i really hope west ham don't go up....they will stay up should they do
andysstuff Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 2nd for WHU - can't see them throwing this away, even over 2 legs.
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2012 Posted 3 May, 2012 If it were saints I'd be worried at how easy it's been. Surely can't carry on like that for 3 more halves? WH haven't had to be that good. Never seen Cardiff play so badly. The usually ever-reliable Wittingham has had a complete mare.
