Cestrian Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 I honestly never thought it would happen and have to say that I laughed when Nicola made his statement about being in the Premier league within 5 years. Hat's off to all concerned. More than happy to eat a huge slice of Humble Pie today.
Dalek2003 Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 If anyone should be it would be me. 17th was very wrong and I have never felt so good about getting such athing wrong. Well done Nigel Adkins and well done SFC. The ghost of Hoddle finally buried.
The Kraken Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 The ghost of Hoddle finally buried. Please, please tell me that means you'll never mention it again? Somehow I doubt it.
Dalek2003 Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 Please, please tell me that means you'll never mention it again? Somehow I doubt it. Well we are back were we should be. We have to be clever and decisive in the transfer market. But that is for another day. Now is the time for celebration for all supporters of SFC
Ohio Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 I was right about promotion at an early stage this season.....But the 5 year plan? Hell, I was soooo sceptical!! I'll have two slices of humble pie for that one please!
AussieDog Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 When Marcus bought us I was just happy that we had survived and enjoying the positive spin for a change. I thought 5 years to the Premier League would be tough and when we didn't get immediate promotion from L1 I did wonder whether we would lose momentum. This year I did think we would have a good season, but didn't really think we'd do better than an outside chance at the play-offs. I'm just so glad I mde the decision to come back to be part of the promotion season (although I was hoping for better from the Pompey & Reading games!). I just wish I could have stayed for an extra week and seen today's game. I hope that the fans and the chairman don't get on Nigel's back if we're not top 6 next season! LOL So proud to be a Saints fan today :)

buctootim Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 Total respect to all those 'fessing up'. I wasnt sceptical about getting the PL in 5 years, but regular Champions League?? Lets hope we all get proved wrong.
Cheam Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 I thought I was optimistic and would finish 8th. Really happy today!
doddisalegend Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 Ha! thought we'd finish mid table this season thought play offs were an outside chance at best......very happy to be wrong best season in a long time
Legod Third Coming Posted 28 April, 2012 Share Posted 28 April, 2012 I'm well cheesed off. 1 point away from 14/1. A bet I placed in total confidence before a ball was kicked. Humble pie? No. Total faith. And now I'm cheesed off because my bookie won't give me a price on Champion's League qualification. He wants a day or two to 'think about it'...
