Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Lots of crap on this forum the last few weeks... But just stop and think what this group of lads has achieved. The interviews with our Nige and Kelvin just summed it up for me...these are are great set of players playing in font of a fantastic man manager and some of a set of fans who have been through hell and back but stayed strong..l..l So happy we are back in he top flight..I hope we make the premier league a better place......
alpine_saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Now that it is over, it is a remarkable achievement. Back-to-back promotions.
gaz Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Absolutely. Too many times this year, people have jumped on the bedwetting bandwagon and moan for the sake of moaning. If thats what they want, jump over for Skatesville, they have REAL problems to moan about. We are Saints, we are in the big time. Again.

The bedwetting and anxiety is part of being a football fan. However, the likes of today are sweet and we will remember it for the rest of our lives !
Foxstone Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Will never forget how proud and elated I feel today
WealdSaint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 I can remember 1976, 1978 when we got promoted, today rates alongside them
Plumstead_Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 We've never had it so good! This season will be remembered fondly in years to come. Bring on the premier league!
Ohio Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 I can remember 1976, 1978 when we got promoted, today rates alongside them I would agree with that, but would add that in those days our future was less clear. 1983 was a heck of a surprise! This time, we have a plan for the future!!

Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Author Posted 28 April, 2012 My lad was born the year after we were relegated...Today we watched the game..and know that we will go to St Marys next season together as season ticket holders, now he is old enough to st still for more than 5 minutes!! Just so chufed for everyone in the city and connected with the club...
kpturner Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Sorryy, I meant 83-84 Ok - so what happened in 1983-84?
Ohio Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Ok - so what happened in 1983-84? 2nd in the top flight to Liverpool. Yes, it's only 2nd, but it was pretty darned amazing beating Manure to that spot at the end of the season, and Liverpool were worried about us winning it!
kpturner Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 2nd in the top flight to Liverpool. Yes, it's only 2nd, but it was pretty darned amazing beating Manure to that spot at the end of the season, and Liverpool were worried about us winning it! You had me there. Thought we had won something and I had missed it.
suewhistle Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Now that it is over, it is a remarkable achievement. Back-to-back promotions. I've just removed you from my ignore list. I know that's a bit of a teasing thing to say, but it's true and meant in a positive if drunkish way! I hope we enjoy the ride. Might be a bit roller-coaster though... take them with more equanimity and you'll enjoy them more!

positivepete Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Stood by my seat on the half way line in the Kingsland today watching the fans running on the pitch. Off to join the other Brisbane Saints tomorrow, not sure when my next game will be, but what a memory if that is my last for a while. Thanks SFC
Saint Without a Halo Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 2nd in the top flight to Liverpool. Yes, it's only 2nd, but it was pretty darned amazing beating Manure to that spot at the end of the season, and Liverpool were worried about us winning it! Would of course have been a champions league place these days! Only UEFA cup then though!

beatlesaint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 The greatest achievement for me this season is that we were in the top two for the entire season. That in itself is remarkable.
