parkgatesaint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Have to say it crossed my mind and was mentioned on the radio too...seven years ago we were relegated and I cried. When I signed your condolence book I cried and today...I have cried with joy...Thank you Marcus. You have united so many thousand fans all around the world !
Ashby Saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Thank you Marcus and family. Wish you could have seen it!
mui Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 I don't know what to do, I don't know what to say, I'm in Australia, I only get whatever the minimum posts are, I still remember how gutted I was when we got relegated - no one even knew who Southampton where (and still dont!). I remember when "soccer" started to become popular here and everyone barracked for Man U, I thought "screw that, winning is boring" and saw some bloke name Matt Letissier kick the ball around and fell in love with this club. This is the happiest day since I discovered the true spirit of football (winning isn't everything, but it sure does feel good!!). I can't wait for next year!!!
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Who could have imagined we'd be back in the PL so quickly? such a shame that he died too early to see it happen. Saints legend.
mui Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 I can't imagine how good it must feel for you people that have been following this club since forever and those that could be lucky enough to be at the game, I feel really happy for you! I just want to reach out and hug everyone everywhere!!!!
Frank's cousin Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Today was for Markus, Nicola, Nige, the team, the staff and the fans. I salute you all.

WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE Seriously, if you're going to take the time to pass on respects to a man, is it really beyond you to spend a few seconds to learn how to spell his f*cking name correctly?

Given the general spelling and grammar on this forum, I wouldn't worry about it.

Gingeletiss Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 I would like to see a ground swell of fan pressure now, calling for his statue to be commissioned and set outside St Mary's.
Saint 76er Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 I would like to see a ground swell of fan pressure now, calling for his statue to be commissioned and set outside St Mary's. WE NEED A STATUE OF MARKUS NOW!!!!! Outside SMS there should be statues of Ted and Markus, watching over us together. They are the great folk heros of our football club. One from a former era, one from the present. We could not be where we are (or perhaps even in existence) without either and I want to see them both immortalised in bronze and keeping watch over us for the start of our premier league campaign. Over to you Nicola ... Thank you for giving us days like today Markus. RIP big man.

I'm too F'd to care! Markus Liebherr is an absolute legend, and our current PREMIER LEAGUE status is all thanks to him and Nicola Cortese (Also the best Chairman/CEO of a football club EVER)
