Just got home ....hammered and happy , big thanks to the players , Markus and NC . Back where we belong at long last !!!!

 

Great to see Phil , Paul and Nick ...went home via Kingsland Taven , The pensioners and Kutis .....lovely curry to top it off and sorry to the 50th Birthday party who we changed intpo saints fans in there ....brilliant day so happy

shame the Saints representative on there is such a complete bender.

 

He seems to have been on there forever. Luckily they seem to understand that he is the Lone Bellend without even a Tonto as a friend, and don't really associate him with the rest of us too much

I can't add any more links to people welcoming us back, surely, as I'd be here all night. Incredible reaction from around 90% of rival fans... Wow.

 

I've been having a look too, most seem to have missed us and feel we're a traditional premier league club! Which is true I guess.

 

We were always there, always a tough place to go, involved in famous games, famous players . We were never a boring club up there and have obviously stuck in the memories of most.

 

I think we're there to stay for a long time.

I watched it 4.30 in the morning at the local pub here in Vegas. I cried like baby! Finally seven years of pain instigated by the evil duck hunter are behind us. Markus, Cortese and Adkins are heroes

Well .... okay, they achieved the objective today, so credit for that. We were actually poor, but it didn't matter as Coventry were wretched (not their fault with their resources.)

Rubbish - I thought that Coventry actually played well for much of the match - they just lacked the capacity to finish.

Just watching the FL Show on BBC - Lump-in-the-throat time with the post-match interviews in the tunnel... very emotional Billy Sharp.

 

Certainly brought a tear to my eye. Terrible year for Billy off the pitch, must have been a really strange set of feelings for him after the match.

Shows that money doesn't buy success. Leicester spunked near on 14m in transfer fees, god knows how much on wages, an didn't ever get anywhere near a promotion spot.

 

WHU should have done much much better with the squad they had, 55k p/w and £5m on Kevin Nolan for e.g.....he's had a very poor season though.

 

Team spirit and togetherness is much more important than spending £14m.

I just cannot believe we have returned to where we belong. I am just so overwhelmed with happiness and relief. We give huge thanks to Markus and Don Cortese, but most of all to Nigel Adkins. He has been an amazing manager over the last two seasons, and I just cannot believe that he didn’t win a single Manager of the Month award this season. I cannot take it all in! WE ARE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!! A wonderfully happy day for Saints fans around the world!! A great day to be a Saint.

The very best thing about promotion is that we don't have to stay up stupidly late for the football league show!
well we will be 5 minutes earlier when we are on last on MOTD. Saying this, if there is enough goals we will be on earlier.

Just read the match thread, good to see that everyone stayed behind the team. First 10 minutes on their backs on here. A game is 90 minutes. Seems most do not have any patience!

 

Expect nerves at the start, as it was a huge game, but no doubt what the outcome would be!

 

So happy and proud this morning!

So, we're back in the Prem, Pompey back in the 'third Division' and the earth shifts back onto its rightful axis once again...

 

Well done to the boys, management and the fans - an amazing season with some bumps long the way, but we've done it. One man needs to be singled out though - Nigel Adkins - now a Saints legend forever. Kept his head and focus while others around him (including many of us) were losing theirs. Have a well earned break mate, and look forward to you leading us into the Premier League next season... So proud of this club!

Only just recovered from yesterday, great game, great atmosphere, great pub (the guide dog). One of the 4 best Saints days i remember--(76 cup win, 78 promotion, 84 second place in the old div 1/now prem ). The Status quo has been restored saints back in the prem & skates back in league 1 :lol:
