SO16_Saint Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 Announced today that he's standing down at the end of the season, and will take a year out of football. Excellent manager, 12 trophies in 4 years - incredible. He's looked drained over the last few months, tbh. good luck to him
This Charming Man Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 Thankfully they've appointed internally and they won't be sniffing around Adkins all summer.
Scummer Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 And he's been replaced by their version of Stuart Gray / Steve Wigley. Good luck Barca. (and of course I know that Guardiola himself came through the ranks, but at least people had heard of him and he still had a lot of respect from when he was a player)

Hatch Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 That makes Di Matteo a shoe in for the Chelsea job ( so that Roman can easily sack him next summer to get Pep in)
Lighthouse Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 HCDAJFU etc. In all honnest I'm pretty sure he will go to Chelsea. I can't see them keeping RDM next season, don't forget Avram grant was a hilarious John Terry penalty away from winning the Champs League, it wont be enough to get him the job. Abramovic likes big names with track records and Pep fits the bill. Still think Saggy chops will get the England job. I don't like it but I can't think of anyone the FA would favour more. S-Clarke Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 He's basically done what I do on football manager. It's great when you build a team that wins every week and you lap up the praise, but when I lose 3 or 4 on the trot and get knocked out of competitions I also walk out. In the real world he seems to have wimped out of a challenge, it was never going to be a case of non-stop success, there would always be tricky patches he'd have to overcome - and I think it's safe to say that he's spectacularly failed at that. Yep, not too much respect here either. He basically inherited a world-beating squad (no coincidence that its pushing on in age). Hallmark of a truly great manager is the ability to refresh and rebuild, something Fergy has done on a consistent and the likes of Chelsea and to a lesser extent Arsenal have not.
