Dog Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 I am coming down to the game from Inverness tomorrow to celebrate our promotion party, are there any pubs near the ground where I can get a couple of shandy's? Oh and how far is the ground from the train station? Thanks

Macey_J2 Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 The royal oak, and the two wetherspoons are decent for a good atmosphere before the matches. These are in town, but not on the direct route to the stadium. The king alfred is pretty good too, and is on the route. The most direct route to the stadium from central station is up the hill next to the station to get to the highstreet, walk straight on untill you get to the cross roads with kfc on the left side, then keep walking straight! You might be able to see the stadium from here between some buildings. You'll walk along the road between two parks, and get to another cross roads with solent uni on the left. Go straight over, walking on the right side of the road, then go through a subway and out the other side, and keep walking straight down the road on untill you get to the green pedestrian railway bridge. -The king alfred is on the left before the green ped bridge. You might need to show i.d at any pub tomorrow, so a scottish residence might be a question. If you've got any saints merch on, i would have thought you'd be o.k. Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 When you come out of the station, head towards the docs. When your feet get wet, just keep going. The ground is just past Hythe pier, plenty of boozers on the way.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 What's wrong with Dog? Should we be worried? Only if you bum him. Ok I dropped a K, well done - gold star for your polo-shirt with all the buttons on up.

It was utterly pointless pulling up the missing "k" wasn't it? I don't know what to say to be honest.

Oh and how far is the ground from the train station? Thanks Come out of Central Station and find the Number 10 bus service. It's 7/8 minute bus ride to Ocean Village where a popular pre-match pub is the Admiral Sir Lucius Curtis (Wetherspoons) (In Canute Road by the traffic lights - find on Google Maps). From there its about a 10 minute walk to St Mary's - no problem to find as there will be loads of other fans going the same way.

Turkish Posted 27 April, 2012 Share Posted 27 April, 2012 The Alex? But it's not on the way I'd rather walk 10 minutes out of the way to be in a boozer you do want to be in, than walk in the same direction and be in one you don't.
