saints-cris Posted 29 April, 2012 Share Posted 29 April, 2012 Watching Cov yesterday was so reminiscent of us when we went down, play pretty football with kids but simply not enough firepower.Good kids but playing way too early. Really felt for them. Hope they bounce back

Bailey Posted 16 August, 2012 Share Posted 16 August, 2012 Sorry to re-raise an old post, but wishing you a great season in the Premier League, and a long successful stay. We're off to Yeovil . . . hell! Enjoy it. I think the majority of us on here did! Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted to be back in the Prem, but you can't beat good ol' fashioned away days to places you'd otherwise never go near. There are some cracking lower league grounds with a great atmosphere too, and you get to witness some 'proper' football at that level. I for one will miss the Football League this season! Hopefully I miss it for many years to come, too.
Saint Garrett Posted 16 August, 2012 Share Posted 16 August, 2012 I loved league one. Was brilliant being the 'big fish'. Loads of great new grounds, nice pubs, and superb wins! I'll never forget brentford and Plymouth away in L1 run in

S-Clarke Posted 16 August, 2012 Share Posted 16 August, 2012 It's great being the big fish and the ''Man Utd'' of a league. The pressure is huge, but it's exciting seeing the wins stack up. A club the size of us, and yourselves can get a real momentum, and then at that level you can see all sorts of club records broken (in good ways). Like we did. Enjoy it, I only have fond memories to be honest. 2 great years, but good to be back where we are.
Jack Posted 16 August, 2012 Share Posted 16 August, 2012 Mind you, they've got Fortress Fatpipe to visit, so maybe not that attractive! Are Cov the new replacement for Southend when it comes to love ins? Anyway, your post prompted me to check the fixtures, and I've unearthed some interesting information: Saturday March 23rd 2013 - Portsmouth vs Coventry City. Saturday March 23rd 2013 - No premier league fixtures. I have a friend who is a Cov fan. IF Portsmouth are somehow still fulfilling their fixtures, I'll be going to this one with our brand new best buddies.
St Chalet Posted 16 August, 2012 Share Posted 16 August, 2012 Good luck to Coventry who have easily replaced Southend for the love-in. My first game was against Coventry in 1985 and my sons first game was the promotion game this year, so I to have a soft spot. Have to say your team and fans behaved with great dignity given what a shambles SISU have proved for you, in another life that could have been us! Good luck in L1. In the same way I always looked for Huddersfield results last year, I will be doing the same for you guys this year - especially at Fortress Fatpipes. SuperMikey Posted 16 August, 2012 Share Posted 16 August, 2012 Massive respect for Cov fans, especially after the way you acquitted yourselves in the last game of the season. League One was so much fun, some great away trips and less plastics at games too. As long as SISU put some money into the club or you get those muggy c*nts out of the boardroom, you'll have a ball. Will be looking out for your results!

Whitey Grandad Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 Good luck Coventry. They are hamstrung by the rent that they have to pay for their ground. I shall be watching for your results with interest.
